Ch. 16 "Promise"

                                                     Cameron's Earth

                                            Steve POV

Everyone was in the conference room as Strange explained the situation, 

"So I found what is blocking me," Strange said 

"What?" Bucky asked, 

"My counter part," Strange said 

"I'm sorry I do not understand," Thor said 

"In other words my evil self, he's blocking me with Dark arts," Strange said 

"Can't you counter it or something?" Tony asked, 

"Yes, but there is a catch," Strange said 

I looked at him, 

"It's going to take two days max," Strange said 

I paced back and forth, 

"We don't have that kind of time, Cameron doesn't have that kind of time, they are breaking her mind, breaking her down, she needs me," I said pacing back and forth a wreck watching my little girl suffer at the hands of our evil counter parts, 

"I know, but what choice do we have," Strange said 

"I swear this is something straight out of Narnia," I said 

Everyone's head spun towards me, 

"Cameron's been catching me up," I said but then shook my head, 

"Is there any way that you could speed this up faster than two days," I said 

"I can try but no promises," Strange said forming a portal to go back to his room,

I looked at the portal that remained in the room, that kept a close eye on Cameron, she was laying motionless on a bed, looking at the ceiling in a daze, 

"If only I could talk to her," I whispered, 

"Perhaps I can help," Wanda said 

I arched my brow, 

"I know Cameron's Brainwaves, even if she's on a parallel earth, I'm confident I can link your mind with hers," Wanda said 

"What, No that's too risky," Tony said 

"Do it," I said not hesitating 

She nodded, 

"Sit," She said 

I nodded sitting in the chair, 

Her hands on each side of my head, 

"Clear your mind," She said 

I nodded doing as I am told, 

Suddenly I'm in a field of flowers, I look around, 

"It hurts..." I hear Cameron's voice, 

I spot her under a willow tree on a bench with a red rose in her hand, 

"I can't do this anymore... I can't move, maybe they're right, maybe my dad and the others aren't coming for me," I hear her voice 

"Now you listen here young lady you know better than that," I said  sitting next to her, 

"Dad..." She said in a shocked tone,  looking at me,

She dropped the rose and wrapped her arms around me as she hugged me, I petted her hair, 

"Shh, it's alright,  , we are coming for you as soon as Strange gets past what's blocking us," I said 

"You promise..." She whispered in a defeated tone, her head in my chest, 

"I promise nothing is stopping me from coming for you," I said in a stern tone, 

"But in the mean time you need to do something for me," I said  she looked up at me, 

"Anything," She said weakly, 

"I need you to be strong for me, can you do that?" I said 

"But I'm.." she said 

"I know you are against a lot and you are at a disadvantage, but you just need to hold on for a little while longer okay.." I said  cupping her cheek with my hand, 

"Promise me, you will fight and be strong until we come for you, do not, do not give into them, no matter the threats, no matter the pain, you need to be strong for me little one," I said 

"Okay.. I promise.." She said I see she's in tears, 

"That's my girl," I said smiling at her, I kissed her on the forehead and the next thing I know I'm back in the conference room, 

She can do this, I thought looking at the portal, I know she can,
