-two days later-
I was currently in the car with my dad and his girlfriend; Julia, on the way to the airport.
"You sure everything's going to be okay, dad?" I asked.
He nodded looking at me through the rearview mirror, "Yes honey, everything is going to be just fine. There's nothing to worry about."
"I'm still going to worry daddy." I said looking back at him.
"Honey, there's nothing, and I repeat nothing to worry about." he said pulling into a parking spot.
We got out and I grabbed my bags walking into the airport with my dad and Julia following behind.
"You're going to visit us, won't you?" my dad asked as we waited.
"Of course dad." I smiled.
"I just don't want you to leave and then forget about your old man." he joked.
"Oh dad, I could never forget you." I laughed.
"Make sure to call me whenever you can honey." he said.
"I will dad!" I smiled and hugged him.
"I'm gonna miss you sweetie." he said.
"I'm gonna miss you too!" I said and pulled away, "Goodbye dad."
"Goodbye sweetheart." he said.
I walked away with my carry-on bag towards the terminal. I hand over my ticket and I board the plane.
'This is going to be a loooong journey.' I thought.
-18 hours later-
The flight was finally over and I met up with my mother and aunt.
'Oh joy!' I thought as I placed my bags in the trunk and opened the door of my mom's car and slide inside.
I stared out the window the whole drive back towards I'm guessing my 'new home'. When she finally pulled into the driveway, we got out of the car and I grabbed my bags; walking inside slowly.
"Welcome to your new home, Caroline." my mom said as we walked in, "Your room is up the stairs, second door on the right. Go put your things in your room and come back down, you must be hungry."
I walked up the stairs and towards my new room; I opened the door and sat my bags on the bed, and looked around the room. I saw a picture frame sitting on the dresser; I picked it up and looked at it. It was a picture of me and my mom on the first day of school. I was so happy to go to school and my mom was crying because her baby was growing up. I smiled at the memory and placed it back on the dresser and sighed.
I turned towards the door and headed back downstairs to the kitchen where my mom, my aunt and another lady sitting at the island drinking coffee.
"Caroline, this is our neighbor; Karen." my mom said as I walked in.
"Hi." I smiled and did a little wave towards her.
"Hello sweetie, you know my son and his mates are next door right now, you can meet them later if you want; my son Michael is around your age." she smiled.
I nodded, "Sure."
"Caroline, sweetie; do you want anything to eat?" my mom asked.
I shook my head, "No mom I'm not hungry." I said.
"Are you sure sweetie? It won't be any trouble t-" she started but I cut her off.
"No, I'm fine. I'm really not that hungry right now." I said looking at her, "Uhm, I just wanted to go on a walk, to y'know get familiar with this place."
