-two days later-

"Caroline, sweetie where are you?" I heard my mom ask.

I looked up and saw Michael lying on my floor on his phone, probably texting Luke.

"I'm in my room." I yelled.

She poked her head in my doorway and smiled, "There you are Caroline. I thought you were out with your friends."

"Uhh no?" I said giving her a confused look, "I'm right here with Michael."

"Ah, so uh I just wanted to tell you that I'll be leaving for a couple days." she stated.

"Where are you going?" I asked.

"I can't discuss that, but be careful, yeah?" she asked.

"Why can't you tell me?" I asked.

"I don't want to talk about it right now, Caroline!" she said sternly.

I rolled my eyes, "Whatever."

She walked out of my room and I laid back on my bed sighing in frustration.

"My mum wants me home now; says it's important." Michael said from the floor.

"Okay, bye." I said and closed my eyes.

"Are you going to be alright?" Michael asked getting up off the floor and sitting on the edge of my bed.

I covered my eyes with my hands and shook my head, "It's whatever." I said, "Shouldn't you go?"

"I should, but I don't want to leave you alone if you're upset." he stated.

"I'll be fine Michael, I'm a big girl, I can take care of myself." I said uncovering my eyes and looking at Michael.

"If you promise you're okay." he said.

I nodded, "I promise."

"Pinky promise?" he asked smiling sticking his pinky out.

I rolled my eyes and laced my pinky with his, "Pinky promise."

He nodded, "I'm only a call away if you need me."

I laughed, "Bye Mikey!"

"Bye Caroline." he smiled and walked down stairs and out the door.

I laid on my bed for about an hour until I heard someone knock on my door, I groaned and got out of bed and opened the door to see my mom.

"Caroline, I'm leaving. I'll be back in a few days." she said pulling me in for a hug.

"Okay, bye mom." I said and walked back into my room and fell on my bed.

-later-

"Caroline, oh my god I haven't talked to you in what feels like forever." I heard as I answered my phone.

"Oh Shailee, hey; how've you been?" I said.

"Things have been extremely good here." she said, "I miss you though, how've you been?"

"I've been really good actually." I said, "Y'know I've made plenty of good friends here. Things are looking up."

"That's great, have you found that special someone?" she laughed.

"Yeah, right Shai." I grunted.

I heard a knock on my bedroom door and I opened it to see Luke and Michael standing there.
