It had been torture working with her. Her skirts and her perfume it was driving me insane.I was prepared to leave and go to Chicago just to get away from her. I had been trying my hardest to give her the space that she asked for. It was the most challenging, most unselfish thing I had done. I watched my brother walk out to this car from my window when she entered my office, her eyes were wide, and I didn't know what had just occurred.
Each step she took was taken urgently.
And then her ass was in my lap, and her hands were rifling through my hair. If that was all she would have given me, I would have taken it, and then her lips met mine, and I knew she was meant just for me.
That small precious moment was over too soon, but it would get me by until the next one. Wanting Vinessa to be whole again, I had gone searching after my parents' gala to find some information out. Since having information was gold.
"Vinessa, I need you for a business meeting tomorrow night. Would it be okay if I picked you up?" Just in case anything went arie I wanted to make sure Vinessa got home safe with or without a fainting spell of hers.
"Aw... Sure," she said, unsure, and I could see the twinkle in her eyes, and I knew she was excited.
"Great."
The next night she was dressed up business casual in black slacks and a purple top, her hair was down, and her curls seemed to be protruding everywhere. "Why are we headed toward your house?" She asked me, knowing as soon as we turned toward Howth where we were going.
"I need to show you something before we go." I had no clue if my plan would work and if she would ever talk to me after tonight, but I had to try. If she thought something was up, she did not allude to it.
His vehicle was sitting outside in my driveway. I opened her door and lead her inside, wishing that she was at my house for any other reason than what I was about to lead her into.
Her hand was shaking; I had purposely grabbed it on the way in.
"Dad," She said as soon as she saw him sitting in the foyer. She kept her eyes on him, and I was worried she would faint right in front of me.
She stepped forward, letting go of my hand and walking toward him.
"Vinessa," her dad said. It had been four years since they had seen each other.
"You look good," he said to her, filling the silence.
"You look like you gained some weight," Vinessa said, but her tone was joking.
He patted the middle section.
"Someone didn't keep me to my running schedule," he said guiltily. "You are living in Portsmouth?" he asked, and I could tell he was tip-toeing around anything too big for them. She shook her head, letting him know that she was. "Wanda's?" she shook her head again. "Good.
I'm glad you have been staying with her."
"She hates you." She said to him, she was rather open with him.
"She always has." He laughed, and the truth didn't seem to affect him.
"Why?" Vinessa asked, diving into the serious stuff. This information took me off guard; I could not imagine Wanda hating anyone.
"She never thought I was good enough for your mother." Vinessa gawked at this as if she agreed. "I'm just happy you agreed to see me."
Even though Vinessa had no clue he would be here, she didn't tell him she had, in fact, not agreed to see him.
