I was almost asleep when Andy came back, he had waited out the storm at kale's. He said Kale's arm was healing real good, he still had some pain with it but the worse part was over.

This was great news, we both needed more of that. The night progressed and we had a small dinner and relaxed on the big comfy couch. It felt so good to be here with Andy. The bottle of wine we shared was almost gone, guess that was a good thing to, because I was feeling pretty tipsy when I leaned in to kiss him. The response I got was as exciting as the lightning in the sky. We made love to the rain, another day was approaching an the skies were clear, the only sign it had rained were the puddles it left behind.

I got dressed and fix breakfast. It was Andy's turn to lay in bed and enjoy, he was so surprised, he didn't even pick on me about the burnt toast. I had managed to save the eggs though, speaking of eggs I should get some chickens. They might be nice to here in the morning, maybe a few pigs and cows looks like I'll be here awhile. I finally made it to town by 11:oo the sheriff was waiting on me when I got there.

"Good-morning or should I say good-afternoon." He knew his son Andy and I were a couple, with a smirk I followed him in his office. I had brought the papers with me to show him what I had learned. He said my pa had came to him that same week he and ma were killed and had told him the whole story about his ma an Elijah, and how Gary Red was his brother.

Pa had wanted to know how to tell Gary. the sheriff said he went with pa out to Gary Reds house to tell him. Gary was angry of course. but said he needed time to let it all sink in. he was shocked an had , had no idea that Zeb an him were brothers. the sheriff said Gary had listen to everything an the money perked his ears, but he didn't believe Gary would kill for it. They had parted on good terms with one another, although the argument later that week was a different story. Gary had gotten drunk and went out to your ma and pa's farm to demand all the rights to the 2 hundred acre woods. Zeb had explained that they were to share it and make decisions on it together, but before Zeb could show Gary the paper work on it, a fight broke out between them, your ma called the sheriff, and Gary was arrested for disorderly conduct.

Your pa didn't want charges of DUI filed. Your pa had a good heart on him. Your pa said Gary just needed time to except all that had happened. If it had happened to him he would have been angry to. well Miss Amy that's about all I could tell you that happen. except one thing that has, had me concerned for awhile. The day your pa came in an told me about him, and Gary being brothers, old Elijah was in the jail cell sleeping it off.

He had gotten drunk the night before, and was passed out in the park, on a bench, we brought him in drunk as a skunk. To be quite honest with you I wondered many a day if he had over heard your pa and me talking. I know I would sober up if I had just heard I had, had a son, grown no less and that the mother had never told me about him, my arms went cold as I listened. Could old Elijah have murdered my parents?

He was the only witness to the hit an run. This case gets trickier, and trickier to figure. The sheriff warned me not to approach ole Elijah if he was drunk, there was no telling what he was capable of.[he said]. My first thought was to get those papers to Bubba and Holmes Law Office, at least the papers would be safe there.
