" Yeah I will have the burger and fries, and give blondie here a salad she kinda needs it." Max said while throwing his head back in laughter. Rolling her eyes Kennedy turned to punch Max in the shoulder which he was lucky enough to dodge.

"You are so rude." She replied as Louis turned away to give their orders to a passing waitress to bring to the kitchen.

Through dinner their conversation drifted back and forth between different topics. Both of them being contributing to the conversation with no trouble at all. It was times like this that Kennedy enjoyed. She liked being able to spend time with her best friend and not have to worry about anything. Though in the back of her mind she knew that it wouldn't last and things would quickly go back to the way they were. Kennedy did plan on telling max about her whereabouts and random disappearances that he had questioned her on many times, but she just didn't know how to break it to him or the impact it would make on not just their friendship but their lives.

After their lovely dinner and a friendly goodbye from Louis, the two made their way back to their apartment. The walk back was mostly silent only a comment every now and then about the people passing them on the streets. Sooner than later Kennedy and Max's boots stomp through the threshold of their apartment with the remnants of the snow outside collecting on the floor with each step they take. Without a word spoken they each make their way to their separate rooms for the night.

As Kennedy walks into her rooms she spots a large dark spot in the middle of the white comforter that lays across her bed, making her jump a little as the spot gets up and walks to her. She breathes and sigh of relief at the dog that now sits in front of her staring up at her.

"You scared me there dude." She states walking past him to the bay window, but not without patting him on the head while passing. Taking a seat at the window she looks out to admire the snow that drifts down from above only to land on unsuspecting people on the streets. Kennedy always found the snow interesting seeing as growing up she had never fully saw snow fall. After graduating high school she left her home town and moved out east to Chicago. Now having lived there for a couple of years she has grown accustomed to the harsh freezing winters and the summers that don't go above 90 degrees.

After 20 minutes Kennedy decided that she had enough of people watching and decided to head to bed. Stripping from her clothes, she changed into a pair of old sweat pants that had definitely seen better days, and a long sleeve shirt dressing warmly as she knows it will get even colder through out the night. Climbing into bed she hopes on getting some rest before the sun breaks through the clouds, insomnia had always brought out the worst in her. With Sam by her side she found herself staring at the wall as the shadows of the city lights shined against it, waiting for sleep to dawn upon her.
