It was there in that moment when the two unlikely people met.
Was it expected?.... Probably.
After finally getting the leash back on Sam, Kennedy made her way back to meet up with her beloved roommate. Little did she know that as she was leaving, his fluorescent green eyes never left her. She never thought much of the five second conversation that occurred, but there was a part of her that was happy that it happened. She had seen him many days prior to that day, as she watched him casually stroll down the street in the morning walking to the cafe for his morning cup of coffee. She found him intriguing, yet never bothered to strike a conversation with him due to the fear of him possibly pushing her away or thinking that she was annoying.
Finally meeting back up with Max the two (Plus Sam) made their way back to their apartment in seek of warmth. After making it inside Kennedy made her way into the kitchen to put away Sam's leash."You know it's almost dinner time, you wanna go out tonight?" Max asked her scaring her a little bit for she didn't realize that he was right behind her.
"Oh...um.. yeah I suppose so, where are we going to go?" She responded genuinely curious due to the fact that her roommate never wanted to go out to dinner.
"I know this great sports bar that is about a block away. They just opened and I have been dying to try it." Max said.
"Ok yeah just let me change into something warmer because I think it is snowing outside." Kennedy replied while walking back into her room to change. As the door closes behind her, she walks to her closet and takes off her sweater and jacket leaving her leggings on. She pulls out a heavier cream colored sweater with the word 'Casualty" written in big black letters across the front, and pulls it on. Walking over to her bed she puts on a pair of black combat boots on, puts on a dark red colored pea coat and places a black beanie atop her head. Satisfied with her appearance, she makes her way back into the main area of their apartment where she finds Max typing away on his phone while he waits for her.
"Ready?" He asked looking up from his phone to look at her.
"Yeah lets go." She replied picking up her keys, phone, and wallet from the counter and placing them in the pockets of her coat.
The temperature outside had changed drastically as small snowflakes fell from the sky while they made their journey down the street. Kennedy silently thanked herself for changing into something warmer for if she was to stay in what she was wearing she would've sure been freezing. After about ten minutes of walking they finally arrived at the front of the restaurant. The front had two large glass windows big enough to where you can see the flat screens lining the corner of each wall, and the countless booths and tables with a bar right in the middle of it all. The place looked very well put together and it intrigued Kennedy as they walked through the front door and made their way to the bar. They both took their seats at the bar as the bar tender made their way over to them.
He was fairly young, he looked like he was in his early to mid twenties maybe twenty three? Despite the tattoos that lined his arms he seemed pretty nice, with his sandy brown shaggy hair and light blue eyes.
"Hey guys my name is Louis and I will be providing you with your alcoholic pleasures this fine night." He said looking between Max and Kennedy. Max wasn't even trying to hide the fact that he was checking Louis out, even though Louis seemed completely oblivious to it.
"Can I just get a peach tea?" Kennedy asked while Max snapped out of the trance he seemed to be in.
"No problem love, a peach tea for the pretty las and what about you man?" Louis asked Max.
"Oh um yeah can I just get a coke, yeah that would be great thanks." Max said clearly embarrassed by his actions.
"Yeah I'll be right back with your drinks." Louis said before turning around to fulfill their orders.
"He is so cute Kennedy! Did you see him, oh my goodness!" Max gushed turning to face Kennedy.
"He's pretty nice I suppose," She responded for she didn't think to much into the situation.
"Well it doesn't look like I will have a chance anyways," He said nudging Kennedy's shoulder as she turned just in time to see Louis kiss the cheek of a pretty brunette. She blushed bright red and walked over to take the seat right next to Kennedy.
"Hello my name is Eleanor," She said sending a friendly smile at Kennedy.
"Oh uh hello I'm Kennedy, and this is my roommate Max." Kennedy replied shaking hands with Eleanor, while Max waved at her.
"It's lovely to meet you two, are you two here on a date? I didn't mean t-" Eleanor started.
"Oh no no no no, we are just roommates, I'm gay and Kennedy is single as fuck,we are just here for the food." Max said
"Well good choice the food here is amazing. Anyways I should probably get back to my friends, it was nice meeting you two and here is my number if you wanna hang out some time Kennedy." she stated putting a small piece of paper in front of Kennedy and walking away.
"You actually made a friend?!? I thought I would never see the day!" Max teased Kennedy.
"Shut up I can make friends if I want to, I just never bothered to," Kennedy replied.
"Well there you just had someone waltz up and become your friend, congrats." Max stated with sarcasm laced in his voice."Oooooooh hottie three o'clock, starin' at you right from that chicks table." He said glancing slightly over Kennedy's shoulder trying to be somewhat desecrate about it. Without further questioning Kennedy spun around in the chair she was sitting just in time to see him glance quickly glance back down at the table looking embarrassed that he got caught.
He just happened to be the same guy from the run in at the park earlier today. Kennedy decided to not look to much into it and shrugged her shoulders turning back to her roommate.
"Alright here are your drinks, what would you guys like to eat," Louis returned setting their drinks in front of them.Kennedy tuned them out as should couldn't get the strange man out of her head, he made her feel so conflicted.
