'3 A.M' the alarm clock next to Kennedy's bed read in big red numbers. Finding no hope in getting any sleep she turns on the bedside lamp and gets out of her once warm bed. Walking over to her closet she pulls out a pair of black pants, a white long sleeve shirt and a large thick green and navy blue flannel. After switching her sleep wear with the new clothes that she had picked out she quietly makes her way out of her room, careful not to wake Sam or Max. She breathed out a sigh of relief as she walked down the hallway of her apartment building now with a long pea coat on and her boots on her feet. She didn't bother being quiet while walking outside seeing as she new that the doors to the apartments were well sound proof.

A burst of freezing cold air hit Kennedy like a slap in the face as she stepped out of her apartment building. She began to walk down the snow covered street non her way to the park that was situated down the street. After about five minutes of walking, she saw a someone, who clearly seemed intoxicated stumbling in the middle of the street. After weighing her options  on to help the strange man or continue walking in the case that he could be dangerous, she came to the conclusion that she would help the man before a car would come and something drastic could happen. Knowing the dangers of the situation she pulls a switch blade out of her coat pocket that she keeps in case of emergency.

"Hey are you ok?" Kennedy asks the man while making her way over to where he now sits in the street due to tripping over his own feet. Getting a closer look of the man, she realized that he seemed to be no older than 20 and was clearly passed the legal alcohol consumption limit. With no response from him she walks in front of him crouching down to his level.  "You know it's not safe to be out in the middle of the street like this." She stated knowing that he heard her as he was staring at her.

" Why should I care if it is safe or not? Maybe I will get lucky and a car will come by." The man stated looking down as tears started to stream down his face. It was clear that he had not had a proper shower in some time as he had a strange odor to him and stubble collecting on his chin, But Kennedy made no effort to say anything about it as it was not the place or time to do so."You know I wont hurt you right, so you can put the knife down." He stated gesturing towards the switch blade that was grasped tightly in Kennedy's hand.  Nodding she places the knife on the ground while sitting on the snow soaked concrete in front of the man, not caring that her clothes get wet.

"Why are you out here like this?" She asked somewhat worried about the well-being  of the man sitting in front of her.

" Why would you care? I don't even know you! What do you think I am just going to spill my life story to you? Well I hate to break it to you but that's not going to happen, so you can just be on your way to wherever you were planning on going before you ran into me." He snapped at her.

" You know what? I am sitting here at three in the morning trying to help someone that I don't even know. So why don't you get your head out of your ass for one second and let me help you." Kennedy stated while gritting her teeth trying to keep from yelling in his face.

" Why don't you take the hint that I don't need your help!" He yelled, his words slurring together due to the alcohol in his system." You walk in here like somebody's business waving this knife around like I'm going to kill you or something, I mean seriously?!" He yells in her face while grabbing the switch blade that was by her side, opening it and wielding it around between them.

"Ok I get that, please just put the knife down and we can talk about this." Her voice barely above a whisper as she was afraid of what the man was going to do now that he had possession of her knife.

"No you know what I am sick and tired of people like you that think that they are just 'oh so great' and can do fucking anything. Well here is a news flash blondie, not everything in the world can be fixed and you sure as hell are not helping." He stated, his words were like a slap in the face but they were nothing compared to what happened next. With a flick of his fingers the blade flicks out and shimmers against the street light. Everything went by too fast as her knife plunged into his chest right above his heart. The only sound was the sound of gurgling that came from his mouth as he slowly lost conscience, falling backwards and hitting his head on the ground with a small thud.

"Shit." She cursed under her breath. She knew that he wasn't going to make it through the night, but it wasn't suppose to happen like that. Believe it or not she liked things like this to go by in a peaceful matter and not an argument that lead the man to stabbing himself. Standing up she walked over to him and placed two of her fingers along his neck. Feeling absolutely nothing she sighed and tried to think of a quick solution as to what to do with the man. She knew that dragging his body away would not do anything seeing as his blood would surely stain the snow around them. Deciding the best thing to do is to leave him where he is in hopes of someone finding him, she carefully made her way back to the sidewalk making sure to step on only the places that had no snow so that no one would know she was there.

back tracking her steps she slowly started to make her way back to her apartment, her plans of going to the park demolished. after walking past a small cafe that held a closed sign in the window with the lights off, she quickly found herself shoved into the side of the building.

                                                                 "It was you wasn't it?"
