Only one night until we leave Leiden.
"Are you excited?" Violet mumbles against my head as we lay in her bed, side by side hugging each other. One of her metal hands gently rubs my head and back from time to time.
"Yes. We can go on many more trees there." We chuckle lightly. Of course, I meant what we actually did, when up in the crown of the tree.
I look up to her and lean forward to kiss her lips.
She smiles at the little peck I give her."You are so lovely, my dear." She whispers against my lips and I feel her warm breath on them.
I let out a satisfied sound and lay back onto her chest.
As many nights before now, I fall asleep like that again, hugging her tightly and never letting go.

"Everbody please enter the train on station 4 now. We will soon depart." A high toned whistle, signaling for Violet, me and other guests to get on the train now.
Inside, we search for an empty compartment and find one, after a few minutes. Violet helps me putting away our luggage and finally, we sink into the soft leather seats next to each other.
I sit at the window and wait for the train to start moving. My girlfriend takes my hand and I instantly smile softly.
"How long do we have to travel, again?" I ask her.
"About three hours. You can sleep for the time, I don't mind. Rest a little, darling." She kisses my cheek and I blush slightly.
The pet names she gave me recently are really cute and they always make me feel all giddy and happy.
"You too." I mumble, while getting comfortable resting my head on her shoulder.
Her hand still in mine, she rubbs the back of my hand gently with her thumb until I fall asleep.

Violet needn't to wake me up, since one of the last railroad stations loud noises wake me up. I watch the people outside, while I am still sleepy. But the sudden loud honk from nearby trains surprise me and now I am fully awake.
Violet watch me with a smile on her face and an almost dreamily state.
Then I ask her again, how long it is, until our destination.
"Not long. We are just two more train depots away. I would guess, that takes around 45 minutes."
I nod and lay my head onto her shoulder again, without closing my eyes this time. Gently, I take her hand in mine and play a little with her metal fingers, admiring how clean they are.
Remembering, how much I love the familiar feeling of the cold metal against my palm and the slight rattling noises coming from her arms and hands.
About 45 Minutes later, we already start getting our luggage ready as soon as the train started to go slower and we see our last trainstation.
Stepping onto the stone floor, we are already pushed forward and towards the exit by the flood of people behind us.
I have a hard time to not stumble over my own suitcase and fall face forward to the ground.
"Let's hurry up and get onto a carriage or we will drown in here." I shout over the many noises and Violet agrees.

The horses stop in front of a cozy little house build with bricks and a dark wooden door and windows.
"Thats a beautiful house. This is where you grew up?" The blonde next to me asks and I nod.
The entire way to my parents house I have been so nervous and anxiety almost made me bite my own nails off. But Violet seemed to sense that and tried to ease it by distracting me with various things.
"It won't be that bad. Don't worry, we'll be fine. And if they don't let us stay for the few nights,we will just rent us a room somewhere else. Really,
Y/N, darling." She takes my hands and looks straight at me, "It is all going to be okay."That gives me the courage to go on and knock on the door, right after I hug Violet and reassure myself, that it's going to be okay.
The door opens with a little creak and I recognize my mother standing in the doorframe. I look quite like her and I remember, everybody who knew or saw as, would always tell me and my mother, how much we look alike.
"Surprise." I say and my mouth is suddenly really dry, when my mother doesn't do anything. Just staring at us.
"Who's at the door?" My father's voice gets louder and the footsteps stop, when he stands right next to my mother.
"Hello Mom, hello Dad. Nice to see you again."
I force a smile onto my face."What are you doing here? Did you finish school? I hope you have a proper score." My Dad greets me.
Internally, I already roll my eyes in annoyance.
"Yes. I finished school a few weeks ago, but I visited a friend first, so that I could have time, to plan my visit here. Anyways, this is my"
Don't say girlfriend, don't say girlfriend. Do say girlfriend? Do not? Do?
"Hello, I am Violet Evergarden, it is a pleasure to meet you. I am a friend of your daughter."
Violet greets them with a curtsies.
"I offered her to come with me, becuase she has a job to do here. She travels a lot because of her career, so I wanted to go with her at the same time." I explain to parents.
"How long are you both going to stay?"
So they would let us sleep here, that is a relief, honestly.
"Just a week." I state.
"Well, come in then. Y/N, you know where your room is, right? You both can stay in there. Food will be ready in an hour, I guess you are hungry." Her plain tone doesn't make the words sound nice at all.
I nod and get Violet and me to the room as quick as possible, just to avoid my parents for a few more moments, before we are going to have an awkward dinner.
