"Myla Sh*t"
Lumabas agad ako nang room ng marinig ko ang putok ng baril. Nakita ko si Myla na nakatutok ang baril nya sa lalaki na nakasiksik sa isang tabi at nanginginig sa takot.
"Anong nangyari dito?" I asked with authority in my voice. Lumingon sakin si Myla at binaba ang kanyang baril. Lumapit naman sakin si Lucas habang hinahawakan ang kamay ni Myla at pinipigilan ito.
Lumapit naman sakin yung dalawa pa naming kasamahan at binigyan ko sila nang tingin na nagpapahiwatig na gusto ko malaman kung anong nangyari para umabot sa ganito. Naintindihan naman nila yung pinapahiwatig ko.
"This guy is the one who started it sir. Gusto nya sana agawin ang baril ni Myla dahil ayaw namin sila bigyan ng pagkain. Hindi ko naman akalain na makikipag-agawan pala kay Myla tong lalaking to kaya napaputok ni Myla ang kanyang baril."
"You could have just given them the food." napabuntong hininga nalang ako.
Hindi ko akalain na may mangyayari ganito ngayon. I wouldn't expect to encounter such a sudden accident sa mismong kauna-unahang mission ko na dadalhin dito sa city na to. If Myla was shot right here, then I would blame my irresponsible self.
"I'm fine Ethan. Pero yung mga nasa labas ay ang hindi okay sa ginawa nating ingay."
Napalingon naman ako sa labas dahil sa sinabi ni Myla.
"Ahhh, mga changers, bakit.... Bakit andito sila." nanginginig sa takot na sabi nung lalaki na nagbabantay sa pintuan.
Not far from the stores may ilang mga changers ang kasalukuyang mahinang naglalakad patungo sa lugar kung saan kami. What the heck. I thought this area was cleared from changers, how can they come here so fast?
No, it can't be.
Maigi kong tiningnan ang sitwasyon sa labas. Umabot na ang mga changer malapit sa mga sasakyan at bus na nakaharang. Pero mas napukaw ang atensyon ko sa malaking nilalang na nakasunod sa mga changers.
"Mutant." pabulong na nasabi ni Lucas sa tabi ko.
This is bad. "Use the backdoor. Kayo lahat umalis na kayo. BILIS!"
Everyone flinched when they heard my voice rang inside the shop. They hurriedly run towards the back door of the store habang kami naman ay naghahanda na kalabanin ang ibang changers na malapit na makarating sa store.
"We should hold on for a bit here until everyone evacuates. Do not engage with the mutant, let's just buy some time for everyone to escape and let's get out of here. I repeat, your life is your priority. If you think you can't handle it anymore then run. Understand?" I rapidly gave them orders before grabbing my rifle and preparing to fight.
Myla and Lucas was behind me at hinanda ang mga baril nila. Kaya ba namin to?
Why does this happen with our first mission. Napakamalas naman. Bat lapitin kami ng mutant, ganun na ba ako kagwapo?
Dang, enough with the jokes Ethan you need to get your friends out of here alive.
The sound of gunshots can be heard as we fired at the changers just right by the cars that was made for the barricade. There were too many of the changers.
"Ethan, I think this is weird. Hindi nagkukumpol ang changers katulad nito. Its as if that mutant over there is controlling these monsters." Napalingon ako kay Lucas dahil sa sinabi nya.
"I was thinking the same thing." Nagpatuloy ako sa pagbaril sa mga changers.
One at a time napapatumba namin sila pero-
"Reloading... captain kunti nalang ammo namin."
Report ng isa kong kasama. Shit this is bad. At this rate, mas mauna pang maubos ang ammo namin kesa sa napapatay naming changers.
I'm just glad the mutant is still not moving towards us.
"THE MUTANT IS APPROACHING CAPTAIN"
Put- I shouldn't have jinx it.
"Nakaevacuate na ba lahat bg civilian." Taranta kong tanong sa mga kasama ko.
"May ilan pang kakalabas lang captain."
"We don't have more time. Move back everyone. NOW!"
We continued to shoot down every changers na malapit samin while we slowly moved back to the backdoor. The bodies of the changers started to piled up and the mutant was slowly approaching us. We were almost at the door and we thought we could outrun the mutant if we just run away but I think the mutant was way smarter than any other monsters.
It started to run faster towards us, sharp claws in its hands and its eyes fielf with bloodlust. Craving to eat human flesh and so eager to devour us whole.
I pushed everyone out of the backdoor and closed it behind me. If we're gonna die. Atleast I get to chose who will. I'll save them.
Fear crept into my body as I stared that same exact eyes glaring at me, just like how that time happened.
No.
Is this it?
I unconsciously closed my eyes as if surrendering my fate to this monster just like how she had surrendered hers.
