Chapter 31: The Girl Who Lives

Head's up for everyone, I have written this story in my school days and now that I have stopped writing for quite some time. The story plot or some of the scenes wouldn't connect to the few chapters in the early progress of this story so please be aware that I might be writing differently than before and would end up confuse some readers. Also, I would be changing some of my POV more often to test which POV I'll be comfortable with, so I apologize in advance if some would find it annoying. Thank you for understanding and enjoy.

THIRD PERSON POV

"I didn't know you were stupid enough to come back here. Ethan." 

That black hair, and that smile that radiates in the sun. Even in the face of this gloomy and desperate situation, she was his salvation. 

He had imagined far too many times of when he gets to see those smiles again. Far too many times he wished that it would not be just another fantasy of his and then wake up in his sleep. He longed for her.

"V" he whispered in the air, barely holding on his rationality to run towards her and embrace her in his arms. But before his actions could be done, the trace of blood on that beautiful face he longed to see was only a small contrast to the intense golden gaze in her eyes. 

'Who is she? Is this really here?' he doubted his eyes. No, it's her eyes he doubted.

"Y-your eyes," 

Bago pa man matapos ni Ethan ang tanong nya ay kumilos na ng mabilis ang babae patungo sa kinaruruonan ng mutant. Matalas at nakakamatay na kuko ang pinalabas nya galing sa kanyang mga kamay. Tumalon ito sa isang bus at sinumulang sugurin ang mutant. 

The fight was intense as V tried to injure the mutant on its head. But the mutant was fast and strong. She struggled for a while and the wounds on her body was multiplying. She slashed her claws towards the mutant's eyes making it shriek in anger as it also counterattacks and slashed its claw much faster than hers towards her abdomen. The attack went through, and her abdomen was injured. She leaped away from the mutant giving them a fair distance. 

"Tsk. I thought di ka na lalabas sa lungga mong hinayupak ka. Pero bat ang lakas mo pa din, I thought you'd be weak when you can't feed. I underestimated you." V uttered in her breath as she held her grip in the wall of the building. Her nails impaled to the wall to give her support. 

"What the hell is going on?" sa banda naman ni Ethan, nakatingin lang ito sa babae habang umaatake ito na para bang isang mutant din. 

Hindi nya alam kung ano na ba ang nagyayari dahil sa bilis ng mga kinikilos nila, hindi sya makapaniwala sa nakikita. 

Mutant din ba si V? Pero nakakapagsalita sya, hindi ko man napansin na iba ang boses nya pero si V yan diba? Hindi ako magkakamaling si V yan. Pero yung mata nya, yung kuko pati na din ang kilos nya. That's not normal. She might be not her. 

Sa dami nang nasa isip ni Ethan di nya na namalayan na may lumapit na pala sa kanyang mga changers. Huli na bago nya marealize to at makakagat na sana sya ng isa, ng biglang may putok ng baril syang narinig sa kabilang banda kung saan sila V at ang mutant sa labas ng 7/11, biglang pumasok sa loob ang isang lalaki na balot ang mukha sa pulang scarf at may hood na jacket. 

"Ano bang ginagawa mo? Tutulala ka nalang ba jan? MOVE if ayaw mo mamatay." sigaw ng bagong dating na lalaki. 

Nabalik sa wisyo si Ethan, dali-dali nyang kinuha ang baril nya at nagpatuloy na patayin ang changers na nasa paligid nila, tumulong din ang lalaki sa kanya. Ilang minuto lang ang lumipas naubos nila ang changer na papalapit sa 7/11 pati yung nasa loob ng store. Di nagaksaya ng oras ang lalaking may pulang scarf at lumabas ito sa 7/11. Tumingin ito sa direksyon ng babae na ngayon ay kinakalaban parin ang mutant. V was slashing her claws non-stop towards the mutant. Desperate to kill it. Their movements are fast and V struggled more as her injuries became more and more gore. Without saying anything the guy with red scarf shot his gun towards the mutant, the bullets hit the target and this made the mutant angry while glaring at the guy.
