I waited for them to react and Thorin did by drawing his sword but Darius was faster and transformed into a dragon. Thorin's sword hit his scales and bounced off. Darius was only about a quarter of his full size but he was still scary He looked similar to smaug but his head as not as long and his scales are dark as a raven's wing and his horns curved back and up. I met his eyes and he calmed instantly as I stroked his neck.

I turned to Thorin and my eyes were full of anger.

"Do not ever attack me dwarf! I may be a woman but I am strong, stronger than you will ever be! I know pain, I know loss, I know dragon fire!" My eyes watered but my voice remained strong and full of conviction.

"My home was burned to the ground and my people were slaughtered! I have every right to fly myself to the mountain and fight him to the death on my own, but I decided against it. I knew you would eventually wish to return home so, I waited." I hissed, my eyes still a slit and Thorin gulped.

"Fine, they'll come with us. Now let's get a move on!" He said and headed to the path that led through the forest. Gandalf galloped away and Darius changed back. It was a short journey to the mountain from Mirkwood but I grabbed my bag anyways. I grabbed my bow and knives before we headed after them. Darius and I were immune to the effects of the Elven magic but it was obvious that the dwarves were not. When we caught up with them they were tied up in spider webs.

"Darius throws the knives and cut them down, try not to kill them," I whispered and he nodded with a smirk on his lips. No doubt he would leave them with a few cuts. I watched as they began to fall and the spiders started attacking. I started firing my arrows and I climbed high into the trees for a better vantage point. I continued to fire arrows until I noticed that elves were approaching.

"Kili Look out!" I yelled before a spider came at him and a red-haired elf cut it down and she threw a second dagger that dropped the spider immediately. I jumped down from my perch and my hands caught fire. I looked around at all the elves and glared at them all.

"Touch any of them wth your arrows and I will burn you to a crisp. I don't want to but I will if provoked ." I spoke in Elvish and they all cocked their heads at my words.

"You Speak our tongue? Why do you travel with these dwarves?"  Prince Legolas asked and I frowned. He did not recognize me, after all the years I had raised him. I guess it was normal but it still stung. I had raised Legolas after the Queen died and Thranduil and I had hit it off. He was the love of my life but after he and I had argued he had banished me because Darius had defended me.  I shook away the tears that tried to spill over and I looked at the dwarves.

"Because I promised protection." Legolas frowned and nodded at the guards. We began walking towards the palace deep in the heart of Mirkwood and I felt Legolas's eyes on my back

"Have we met before?" He asked and I smiled softly at him, a stray tear streaking down my cheek.

"Well, I doubt you would remember my little archer but yes when you were younger you and I were very close." I said and his eyes widened a bit and i  loked back towards the close approaching gates of Thranduil's palace.
