Irene's POV:
Rosie suddenly entered the classroom.
Everyone was looking at her, at this point, almost everyone knew she was sick. The teachers gave her the best grades, the rest of the students gave her gifts, but we all knew she hated it. She wanted to be treated and seen as a normal student. She wanted her last year and a half to be normal, and live her life to the fullest.
We all pitied the blonde, and as soon as she left the classroom to go to the restroom, Jennie and I stood at the front.
"Look, I know all of you are trying to be kind to Rosie because she has... the c word, but it's hurting her even more. She wants her last year and a half to be normal. So please, stop with the gifts and special treatment, she appreciates it, it just reminds her more of her sickness. So please just treat her like what she is, a normal student, thank you." I finished.
Our classmates nodded in understanding.
At this point, it was more of a try-not-to-breakdown-crying-in front-of-Rosie kinda thing for us eight. We're trying so hard to be indifferent and the same, for Rosie. It's hard on everyone. Despite not really being popular, Rosie was well-liked for her voice and kindness.
She is also the girlfriend of Jimin, so that already speaks for itself.
It's just tough for everyone, the doctor informed us pretty well that 25% of patients survive one year and only 5% get past the 5 year mark. Still, we're trying to be hopeful and pray that we get to see our best friend till old age.
Sometimes, I feel like I'm drowning. As the eldest of the group, I have to control my emotions and be the one to lead everyone in such a dark time. It's my responsibility as the eldest to help and comfort the girls, and give them hope, but it does get too much at times.
Usually when it gets too much, I like to head to the dance studio for a bit and just let it all out. Dancing helps me feel safe and at ease. It's also become my outlet to let everything go. I decided to head to the studio after class, today was just a landslide of emotions.
I play a song and let the music flow through me.
As I finish, I hear clapping.
"Wow you're really good." A voice speaks.
"Thanks- wait, you're that guy from SNU, Baekhyun right?"
"Yep, and you're, Irene?"
"Mhm..."
Suddenly, my phone rang.
"Yeob-"
"UNNIE! REHEARSALS FOR THE SCHOOL MUSIC PRODUCTION ARE ALMOST STARTING WHERE ARE YOU?!" Wendy nearly screamed.
"OH MY- OKAY I'M COMING!!" I answer.
Shoot, I forgot the rehearsals for our dance performance was today.
"I'm so sorry I gotta go." I say, rushing.
"No worries, we'll meet at school soon enough anyways." He says smiling.
"Bye~!" I bid as I ran out of the studio.
