The vampire was extremely pale and I realised it was due to the lack of blood Thomas had most certainly exposed him to. It was probably the most effective vampire torture tactic.
His eyes were deep, dark and hollow, almost like all light had abandoned them. His hair was dark and sweaty and it clung to his wet face. He wasn't necessarily ugly, but the sweat and the paleness most certainly added to unattractiveness. Unstableness lingered around him, especially as those hungry eyes landed on me and he licked his cracked, thin lips.
An involuntary shiver spread through my spine.
Neon lighting made his skin almost translucent and I glimpsed the blue veins underneath. The room wasn't furnished, except for the steel chair in the middle and the chains around the vampire's hands and legs. The door behind me locked and I couldn't help but feel claustrophobic.
"I see you've brought backup." The vampire grinned, showing his sharp, white teeth. "Any idea what you're going to do next?"
"A few." Thomas spread his open palm towards me and I took out the vial of salvia divinorum.
The next moment, William was behind the cult vampire and grabbed his head tightly, keeping it in place. The vampire shoo his head, but William was too strong. Thomas opened the vial and poured the content into the vampire's fanged mouth. Thomas closed his jaw and despite all the trashing and shaking, the vampire swallowed reluctantly. His dark eyes widened at the taste, the veins in his neck popped out and sheer panic coloured his expression.
The vampire coughed, trying to spit the liquid out, but it was too late. I stepped back, feeling a bit violated myself. Seeing a fellow vampire like that made me feel uneasy despite knowing he was a bad guy.
I wondered if anyone would ever do something like that to me.
"What now?" I asked under my breath.
Thomas moved away, "Now we wait."
"Assholes!" The vampire shouted. "You've no idea what you're doing! That plant should be used sparingly."
I blinked, "So, you're saying you don't have that much of it?"
The vampire looked over me shamelessly, "Who brought this girl?"
I crossed my arms on my chest, "Hey, I'm twenty!"
"No, honey, you're a jailbait." His dark eyes sparked. "But if you say you're legal, I won't complain."
I pouted, "Awesome. I'm gonna look like this forever."
"Chloe," Thomas looked at me, "priorities, please."
"Fine, whatever."
I dropped on the floor in the corner, realising this might take a while. When they stabbed Ian with the poison, it took till morning for the thing to kick in. This guy swallowed a bunch, but I realised it still might take a few hours.
"Anybody want a latte?" I asked.
The vampire answered, "Only if I can drink it straight from your vein."
"Gosh, can you be more creepy?" I mumbled.
"If that's what you're into, sure."
I pulled myself off the floor, deciding there was no need to waste my time waiting for this jerk to get all tripped out on the vampire-hating plant, "Thomas, open the door, I want a latte."
He rolled his eyes so far back I thought they might remain that way permanently, "You have zero patience."
"Says the guy who's getting married after five months of dating." I raised my eyebrow and William laughed at my remark.
