I felt panic start to rise as Bardle explained everything to us. Jack hugged me very tightly from the back in fright.
"There should be no fear, if anyone gets injured I shall be able to heal them." Bardle then said, trying to reassure us. I felt Jack's arms slowly let go of me, which was a bummer, I enjoy hugs from him.
Bardle told us they had to wear armour to protect them because obviously Evie's army will be quite strong. Some monsters walked in, their faces full of dread. They were holding a huge plate of armour, we moved aside and let them past. Bardle began to start talking again. "We are not entirely sure if you are going to fight, but all monsters are going to, so we are going to get our armour sorted first so we don't waste any time in case we decide yous are not able to fight." he said.
Us, being the stubborn kids we are, wanted to fight, but Jack wasn't AS sad about not fighting, he was more relieved we all would remain uninjured, he's such a sweetheart. However, even if we weren't going to fight we had to help the monsters with their armour. Dirk helped carry Biggun's armour, Jack and I were helping Chef and Quint was helping Bardle. Jack still looked pretty worried for the monsters, so I gave him and hug to hopefully make him feel better. We then continued help Chef attach armour to his tale or whatever you'd call it.
Once we'd finished, we reckoned we needed a break, so we went and asked Bardle when the battle would take place, "In about four hours." so we fetched Dirk and Quint and had a pizza break.
"It's so unfair that we might not be allowed to fight!" Dirk said.
"Well maybe it's for our own safety, we could get seriously injured" Jack replied.
I was about to say something when Bardle came over.
"We have decided that yousare now going to fight, I can't bare listening to your complaining" he said and walked off.
Jack's face turned to pure fear.
