Val's POV
We rose early the next morning as we packed our belongings full with a clean appearance and bellies full. The whole town came to see us go.

"Valencia!" Sigrid called as she hugged me tightly. "I wanted to say goodbye before you left."

"I'll miss you Sigrid." I whispered as I hugged the shy Tilda "Be strong."

I got in the boat next to Fili. Right when Kili was about to step in Thorin blocked his way.

"Your not coming."

"What do you mean? Of course I'm coming."

"Your leg needs healing. Stay here rest. Join us when your better"

"I want to see the halls that our forefathers lived in. "

"When your better."

Suddenly Fili jumped out of the boat as Thorin grabbed his arm. "Fili you belong with the company."

"I belong with my brother. Come on Valencia."

I began to step out as Thorin grabbed my arm "you are to come with us."

"I-"

"As your king."

Tears begin to form at my eyes "at least let me say goodbye." I whispered

"Two minutes."

I stepped out of the boat as I hugged Kili "Get better soon or I'll kill you." He grinned as I launched myself into Fili's arms.

"It's gonna be okay." Fili rubbed my back.

"You don't know that." Tears dripped

"Promise me you'll fight for us then."

"You know I will sunshine." I began to lowly sing the song I learned as a little girl 🎵"You are my sunshine my only Sunshine you make me happy when skies are grey... You'll never know dear...." I quietly cried "how... Much I love you..... So please don't take my sunshine away..." 🎵At that moment I thought my heart would crumble. I hugged tighter and cried a little harder before releasing him shaking.

"I love you." He wiped my tears "so much."

"I you." I hugged him harder and kissed his cheek. "Be safe."

"I think it should be me saying that."he weakly smiling before kissing my mouth before whispering "remember our promise."

I quickly got on board and stared at Fili. "See you soon sunshine."

I looked down as we started to drift apart. I looked down as tears hit the boat. When I looked up I saw a tear roll down his face as he quickly helped Fili.

I prayed that I would soon see my fiancé again.

OMG GUYS THE FEELS This is like the saddest part in the book! I felt so freaking emotional after this itty bitty chapter I almost cried.
