Two days later
Val's POV

I woke up feeling cold with no arms to wrap around me. Where is Fili? I had forgotten he was still in laketown. I pushed the nostalgia tears away as I went to find the dwarves. Down the hall they were discussing.

"What's going on?" I asked softly as they stared

"You passed out after you escaped the dragon. "Balin said

"Where is it now?"

"It's gone for the time being. "

"You mean it's still alive? Thorin we have to get out and go protect them! They'll all be dead with his fire!"

"It reached lake town already."

"Did you go and help? At least some of the people?" I begged.

"There was nothing we could do."

"Nothing! We could have aided them!Saved lives! People probably died in that fire!"

"Thorin we are under the mountain is that not enough?" Bilbo questioned.

"I will not part with a single coin." Thorin replied with a dazed look.

"Thorin. Listen to yourself. Your not yourself. The Thorin I know would have aided the people of laketown. Yet you sit here playing with your gold."

"I am king under the mountain."

"Please, for all of middle earths sake. Please break way from this disease and come back to us. You don't know what is going to happen after this. "

"You are loyal to the dwarves are you not? A loyal friend would not question-"

"A loyal friend would try and help the person for their betterment. "

"Enough!" Thorin shouted.

I tried. I really did. I ran into Bilbo who was going towards the gate.

"Are you leaving?" I asked Bilbo

"No are you?"

"No. I just needed to blow some steam. What are you doing?"

"Someone is at the front gate."

It couldn't be could it? I wanted to believe it but I wasn't sure.

"Come on then." I said as we began to walk. I was dying to know who was at the gate.

We saw four figures approach as my heart stopped.

"Fili." I whispered as tears of joy ran down my face. His cloak was still perfectly in tact just as it was when we first received it. His hair a bit messy but still golden. His head was down as I ran like there was no tomorrow even though my leg hurt like heck.

"VALENCIA!" He yelled as he ran forward spinning around hugging kissing crying, Ya know the whole world.

"I thought you were dead!"

"No love. Death cannot stop true love. All it can do is delay it for a while. (GUESS THAT LINE)

"I will never doubt again sunshine."

"Lovely reunion that I'm watching but really we have a king to save a kingdom to rebuild and we have to prepare for trespassers." Bofur cleared his throat.

"Trespassers?"

"They want their share in the treasure."

"Well don't you think they should get at least a little bit?" I emphasized with my fingers

"In due time." Kili smiled "let's go see Thorin."

"You can't go in there. Thorin is obsessed with the gold. " Bilbo explained

"Well just have to cure him then." Fili walked hand in hand towards what hopefully would be our future home.
