First Day!

The day is here! My first day at UA! For as long as I could remember, I had dreamed of becoming a hero much like Mt. Lady; beautiful, adored, and always there for others. I know it seems weird as I am a little shy and awkward at times, but I have a strong feeling that being at UA will help me out of this. I was actually admitted based on recommendation, which is an honor to anyone in Japan. Honestly, I'm not even sure how I received one as I'm not even from here.
After my adoption at 2, my aunt moved me and my cousins to Japan on a job promotion. It was an adjustment to her and the others as they were a little older than I was when we moved, but I grew up fine. Coming into my quirk is what was the hardest part for me. When I would cry, and water was around, it was just a big mess. Apparently I caused a pipe to burst in the kitchen sink..whoops. As I grew older and began to learn how to confront my quirk, things got easier. When I was 7, I found out I had control over air as well, and as you can guess, that caused some issues growing up. At the age of 10, I had full control of both of my quirks, as one could at that age- and was able to use them together in small bits or one over the other in larger capacities.

'Classroom 1-A. 1-A. Where is it?' I was scrambling to find my homeroom, scared out of my mind of what could come. Not being from around here has been easy and difficult, especially navigating the hallways of the school. "You look lost. Need some help?" That voice. I turn to see the very face which made my heart skip. The face of someone who has been there for me since I first started schools in Japan: "Shoto! You have no idea how happy I am to see you!" I ran and hugged him tightly, knowing he wasn't that big of a hugger.
"I thought that was you. Your bright blue hair gave it away." I blush softly as I forget the most distinctive part of me.
"Yeah, it's kinda hard to miss." I brush my hair behind my ear, hugging my books a little tighter. Is he going to walk me to class? Will that raise questions? As these thoughts swirled in my head, I hadn't realized we had made it to the classroom. It was noisy as all of the students were talking with one another. Shoto took his seat towards the front, and I, by nature, sat in the seat next to him.

"You're in my seat, idiot." Ouch.
"Excuse me?" I look around and raise an eyebrow at the blonde boy in front of me.
"I said. You're in my seat." He lowers to my level, darting his eyes into mine, almost like he's trying to read my soul.
"You know, there are nicer ways of asking people to move." I snarl before getting up, bumping him with my should as I sit in front of Shoto.

"Settle down class. The bell has wrung. My name is Mr. Aizawa and I'll be your homeroom teacher." A man with dark hair that covered his eyes spoke as he walked into the room. Everyone had grown silent, the air almost at a standstill as Mr. Aizawa stood at the front.
"Today, we're going to be going over some basics of the school, as well as basic academic materials. We will get to your hero training later. Oh yeah, welcome to the hero course at UA." His tone was very mono, almost droning on as he spoke.
The first class hour went by fast as we went over the ins and outs of UA and even over our entrance exams. There were several of us that had gotten in based on recommendation: Me, Shoto, and Yaoyorozu. It was no surprise to me that Todoroki made it in based on recommendation, he was amazing with his ice quirk. I never knew why he didn't use his fire, he never really liked to talk about it.
"For the next hour, we're going to test you all on your physical abilities and how well you can utilize your quirks. Put on your gym clothes and head outside." Mr. Aizawa stated before heading out of the room. As we all walked towards the locker rooms, a girl with short brown hair walks at my side, tapping my shoulder. "Yeah?" I respond with a raised eyebrow. "Hi! I'm Ochako Uraraka and I wanted to say I really like the color of your hair! It's super bright and really pretty!" She's oddly cheerful. "Thanks. It used to be white when I was younger and then it was suddenly blue." She chuckles at my statement and keeps going. Weird.

......................................

"First up, Shoto Todoroki." I watch as Shoto takes a deep breath, walking over to Aizawa and picking up the baseball. "Throw as hard and as far as you can." Really? That's it? As the ball launches out of his grasp, his back muscles tighten and my heart stops, my knees growing weak. From what I could tell, his ball throw went pretty far. As the rest of the class did their throws, I couldn't help but picture Shoto and the way his body conformed. "L/N, you're up." Great. Let's hope I don't screw this up. "See if you can beat me, extra." I roll my eyes at the blond boy which I had learned is named Katsuki Bakugo.
I take a deep breath as I roll the ball around in my hand, building up my air quirk to work to my advantage. "Today would be nice, extra!" I growl as I hear Bakugo's voice again, shaking his thoughts from my mind. I launch my baseball forward, putting a large amount of air force behind it. "706.8 meters. Not bad L/N." I smirked as I watched as Bakugo's face turned up with anger. "Who's the extra now?" I say mockingly as I walk passed him, standing towards the back of the group.
We finished the physical tests about an hour later, most of the students wiped out. "Are you okay? That looks pretty bad." I ask to the green haired boy. "Oh. Um, y-yeah. I'm fine. Nothing Recovery Girl can't fix!" His tone was shaky but sweet. "Y/N L/N." I say with a friendly smile. "Izuku Midoriya. But you can call me Midooriya!" The boy says with a soft smile. "You can call me Y/N if you'd like." With that, he nods at me and we part ways, all of us changing for lunch.
As the end of the day approaches, Mr. Aizawa informs us that we must pick a class rep. I shoot up as I hear this, having been the student council Vice President in my middle schools class. I place my vote for Shoto, praying to the high heavens that the only person seeing this is the teacher. As the results as presented, it was a no-brainer that Tenya Ida became our Class Rep, his strength for order shining through after the endurance tests.

"How was your first day?" My aunts voice chimes as I walk through the door. "It was nice. Nothing too hard. More or less just the basics." I take off my shoes and slide on my house shoes, joining her in the kitchen. Being the youngest of the 4 made it a little easier to do what I wanted, but it also had its downfalls. "See any cute boys?" She had a playful tone in her voice, nudging my shoulder as I blushed slightly. "Maybeee." I let my hair fall in front of my face as she stopped what she was doing and turned me towards her.
"Who is it?!" I shake my head at her question, knowing she wouldn't approve of Shoto. "No one. It doesn't matter." I finish cutting the vegetables as I place them in the wok. "Y/N! Tell me!" She's so persistent. "Promise you won't be mad?" I ask, looking at my feet. She nods, crossing her heart. "Well.. it's Shoto Todoroki." My voice trails off. I watch as her face turns down. "Interesting." She turns back to the food, her body language completely changed. Great.

Dinner came and went, everyone in the house relaxing and getting ready for bed. As I brush my teeth, I let out a small sigh, knowing that this wouldn't be easy. You have to prove you can make it. Becoming a hero and a top student in Class 1-A wouldn't be easy, noticing there are some strong competitors already.
