Winter break had come and gone, a handful of class 1-A spending most of it doing work studies. I was able to do my work-study under Ryukyu, which was definitely an advantage point as a lot of our missions had to do with water and air. I was able to master my quirk, being able to handle the use of both of them at once without thinking. I wasn't able to see Shoto much over break as he was working tirelessly alongside his father nonstop. Having the time away sucked, but we made sure to see each other on Christmas for a few hours before spending it with our families.
As the new term began, I couldn't help but feel my heart palpitate at the thought of seeing Shoto again. I was as giddy as a kid in a candy store as I walked back through the doors of the UA dorms. I arrived back at the dorms around 1 pm, soon realizing I was the first student back; a small wave of happiness washing over me. I put my things in my room, ensuring it was clean before heading out to the common area. Since there was no one in sight, I decided to clean the shared spaces of the house, making sure they were spotless.
"Did a lemon explode in here?" A questioned Denki adds as he and Jirou walk through the door. I smile as I peek my head around the corner from the hall. "Friends!" I exclaim as I throw my hands into the air in excitement. "Hey, Y/N! Are you the only one here?" Jirou asks after breaking our hug. I nod, "I was until you guys showed up; so I decided to clean up the place." I reply with a wide grin on my face. "Well, it looks good! Nice work!" Denki smiles as he heads up to his room.
"What the fuck is that smell?" A gruntled voice mutters as they enter the house. I shake my head as I see Bakugo enter with Kiri and Mina. "It's called Pinesol," I state as I put the vacuum back in the closet. "Fucking hell," he grumbles as he goes to his room, more than likely trying to get away from the smell. I had cracked the windows, but I guess that didn't work. "Did you clean this place? By yourself?" Kiri asks astonished as I nod to both questions. "That's so manly of you, Y/N! It looks awesome and smells awesome in here!" He exclaims before he and Mina head to their rooms. Little by little everyone started to arrive again, that is, except Shoto.
"Hey, Midoriya?" I approach Deku, a worried look plastered on my face. "Have you talked to Shoto today? I tried texting him, but I got no response." I say sadly, looking at my shoes. Have I done something wrong? "Uh, no I haven't, now that you mention it." Deku replies worry showering his face as well. I just give him a slight nod in thanks before going back to the kitchen. I put away all of the cleaning supplies, trying to think of why he may not be here. Maybe he had to help Endeavor. Enji tends to do that often. I couldn't help but let my face fall as I thought of all of the horrible things that could happen to my Sho while he was with his father.
"What's the matter, L/N?" Iida chimes as he enters the kitchen. "Oh, nothing. I'm just worried about Shoto." I admit as I dry my hands. Iida nods as he pops open his can. "I see. Todoroki still isn't here yet, is he?" I shake my head at his question/statement, feeling my heartache. "I'm sure he'll be here soon. Don't worry!" His enthusiasm for the positive side of things always did make me feel at ease.
~Two hours later~
Where is he? It's been two hours since everyone arrived back at the dorms. Many of us have already gotten back into the swing of living in the dorms, hell Sato has already started to cook! I couldn't help but let my mind race as I paced my room, feeling my anxiety for his absence grow deeper. "If you don't stop pacing, you're going to put a hole in your floor, stupid." I roll my eyes at the ash-blond boy's comment, facing him as he stood in my doorway. "Look, if you've come here to bicker, leave me out of it." Bakugo rolls his eyes at me before speaking. "No, dumbass. I'm here to tell you Half-n-Half is here."
I knew he could see the worry wash off my face at his words, a 'tch' leaving his lips. "Thank you," I say with a bow before running of my room to greet Sho. Although Bakugo and Midoriya had also done their work-study with Shoto, he seemed to be the last one to make it in, only making my concern that Enji kept him longer so some reason.
"Flower." Shoto smiles as I jump into his arms, my arms and legs wrapping around him. I had begun to get used to the nickname 'Flower' after he began to give me the nickname over break saying how I continued to blossom no matter what was thrown my way. "God I was so worried," I mutter into his shoulder, his arms holding me tighter. "I'm sorry. I went to see my mother and lost track of time. Please forgive me." He sighs as he sets me down, his hands gripping mine.
"It's fine, my love. How is your mother doing?" I ask as we walk to his room. "Better. She was able to come home on Christmas for the day. They said she should be out this week!" I could see the excitement on his face at the thought of his mother finally being home. She had been in the hospital for a good chunk of his childhood no thanks to his father, so to be able to spend time with her was all that mattered to him at times. "That's amazing Sho! We should definitely be the first ones to meet her when she gets out!" "I planned on it!" He says giddily as he unpacked his bag.
"Would you like some help?" I offer as I stand next to him. "I've got it." He smiles as he pecks my lips. I sit down on his bed and begin to play Tetris. "How's Fuyumi? I know it's been a while." A few months ago Fuyumi had been in an accident and it really messed up her back. "She's doing better. She has to wear a brace every so often, but she's back to her normal self." Shoto replies as he continues to put his things away. I didn't realize how sore my body had grown from cleaning until now, laying down to try and relax my muscles. "So what have you been doing since you got back?" Shoto asks as he joins me on the bed. Before I can respond, Shoto just chuckles before saying, "You smell like lemons." "That's because I cleaned the dorm as soon as I got here." I chuckle as I put down my phone to look at him. "Did anyone else help?" He questions, raising a brow. "Nope. I got back before everyone else so I wanted to try and clean." I say with a warm smile. I'm sure that it had been cleaned over the break, but I was bored and I enjoyed cleaning.
"I see." He says flatly. "Well, you smell very nice angel." He says softly as he nuzzled his nose into my neck. I wrap my leg around him, holding him there as I continued to play on my phone. My concentration is broken when I get a phone call from my aunt.
