SBI are the most powerful and skillful people in town, so everyone looks up to them, making them arrogant.
Well- everyone besides Tommy.
Tommy is a young teen, and he doesn't see why everyone likes the SBI. Sure, they are powerful, but they are way to arrogant. And sure, Tommy can be arrogant at times too, but they are just on a whole new level of arrogant.
One day when the SBI met Tommy they became interested in the boy because he seemed to be the only person who didn't admire them, and because if that they made it their goal to make the bond admire them.
This can go two ways:
loads of shenanigans with SBI doing everything they can to make Tommy admire them like everyone else
SBI becomes attached with the teen and kidnap him because- well- dark SBI
