I walked into the house with a newfound determination in my heart. This time I'm going to win over the young pup for sure.
I opened the door. I immediately heard a whimper from behind the couch. Looks like he's hiding from me again.
I peaked behind the couch with a smile. He looked up at me with those big frightened eyes of his.
"just be gentle and welcoming ran. Make him feel safe with you"
Gentle and welcoming. Got it!
I bent down to his level and flashed him a bright smile "please don't be afraid little one. I know I seem big and scary to you but I promise I only want to help keep you safe"
He stared at me cautionsly. Seems he's not convinced.
"alright then how about a peace offering" I pulled out a chocolate bar, the same way keade did "here you like these don't you?"
His eyes lit up and he nodded rapidly.
"ok then" I unwrapped the bar and held it out to him "go on. Take it"
Hesitately he reached out his hand and took the bar out of my hand. He bit into it as his tail wagged excitedly. I couldn't help but smile. He's awfully cute.
My thoughts were cut off when the little pup lay his head down on my lap. I was shocked of how close he was getting to me. Hesitately I reached out and petted his fluffy ears. He let out a content sigh.
I chuckled to myself "kid if I knew it was that easy to win your trust I would have given you chocolate a long time ago!"
