"Imagine living like a king someday,

A single night without ghosts in the walls

We are the shadows screaming 'take us now'

We'd rather die than live to rust on the ground."

-King For A Day by Pierce The Veil ft. Kellin Quinn

🐾🐾

She huffed a little and sat back on the tree, replaying the last few days in her mind. She has grown to like the trees. Each one she was on she would mark a small X on. Showing where she'd been.

Right now she sat at the top and carved random shapes into the bark of the tree with her claw. Just a heart... A broken one. Resembling the one sitting dead in her chest at the moment, she was mentally dead but her heart still beat... Reminding herself that she was still physically alive.

It hurts too much to even care right now. She would rather be dead. But werewolves heal awfully fast and nothing would work. Hanging herself probably wouldn't work. Slitting her wrists probably worse. She could run in front of a car... No not that. She could tangle with a hunter. But that probably won't end well. All her options were jacked up.

"Kitty!" A familiar voice screeched. Her breath hitched as she yanked up her feet and tried to hide as much as possible.

"I duh-on't know lulu! I smell her!" The squeaky voice yelled frustrated.
"Just keep smelling Will." Luca spoke calmly.

"KITTY! Come out! Please. Come out please Kitty!" Soon she couldn't take her brother's ached cries and she jumped down, the wind surged toward her as she swiftly fell and landed on her feet in front I her brothers.

She landed in a crouching position with one hand on the floor, dead leaves fluttered up and fell all around her. She snapped her head snapped up at them as she glowed her golden eyes at them, something she like doing. They repeated her actions, glowing their golden ones too.

"Kitty!" William yelled in a high pitched voice. He ran into her arms and she picked him up and held him on her hip.

"What are you two doing here? You know quite well it isn't allowed for you to be here. There could be hunters." She growled at them. Mainly Luca since he was the eldest of the two.

"I'm sorry! William really wanted to see you! He would've gone alone if I didn't come with him!" Luca quickly explained. She could visibly see him fight the natural urge to bare his neck in submission to her. He was afraid. But as an alpha in training, he couldn't be. He can't be afraid. But he knew deep in his heart that she was even more powerful than him. Right in there next to the fact that she's never hurt him or their youngest brother.

"I sorry Kitty. No be mad." He sniffed a little resting his tiny head on her shoulder. His wolf trying to appease his sister.

"I'm not mad will. Just a little worried. How did you find me?" She questioned. She thrusted the boy into his brothers arms. Not wanting her scent to mark him any longer.

"Were werewolves too ya know. And your scent is kinda all over the place. Did you know you touched about all the trees for 10 miles?" He questioned her. His words were sarcastic and slightly cold. He knew that she didn't want them to find her.

"Urgh. Please go. I love you two to bits and pieces and I wouldn't stand to have you two also kicked out of the pack." She says in a low whisper. She brushed the curly locks out of Williams face and held his head to hers, she pulled her other brother into a short, fleeting hug. She had missed them dearly.

"If we get kicked out we can just come with you and we can stay together! Yeah!" Suggested Luca.

"Luca no. I don't even know how I'm gonna survive. I wouldn't want you guys to have to be the same. Please just take care, yeah?" She said patting William's back and sighing lightly, a small smile tugged at her lips. "And plus. You're gonna have to be alpha without me around. You know that don't know."

"But- to be honest I don't want to. I'm scared out of my mind and- and dad is trying but- the training is hard! The requirements are are- seem unreachable! I'm not fit to be alpha Kira. You are firstborn. It's your job! I don't want it! I wasn't born and raised for this!" He ranted. Fear and distress floating through the air and showing in his eyes. Tears gathered at the corner, threatening to fall.

"Look Luca. I admit. It's not easy, the training and all. And like you said, you weren't born and raised for this. I was coaxed into believing that I am meant to be alpha. I was reminded every day that this is what I'm supposed to do. But you on the other hand. You are a male. You've got alpha in you're blood. You can surpass me easily. And promise me you will. You will become the best alpha that pack has ever seen. Ok? And William, you will help him. You will remind him everyday that he is a alpha. That his going to be an alpha. Ok?"

"Ok." William nodded, determination flashed in his eyes.

She pressed a small kiss to Luca's forehead before pressing her forehead to his and leaning close to him. "I love you Luca. I love you so so so much. It hurts even. I know you can do this."

She instructed Luca to shift into his wolf form and so he did, she set William on his back and placed a soft kiss you his forehead and told him her I love you.

"Luca, there's a stream a little east from here. Bathe off before you get home. My scent might still be there but if they ask tell them you were in my old room." She instructed and he barked softly in reply.

"Oh Kitty this was for you!" He shrieked handing her a bag. It was a plain black plastic bag but she thanked him for whatever was in there with another kiss and she hugged her pup of a brother.

She told them both she loved them and not to come back. She then bid them a farewell and watched as Luca raced off with William holding on tightly with the small black cloak that covered his body and his head, concealing his face a little.

A tear slipped pass her face a she stared down at the bag in her hands. Her puppies just left her. She was already a fully grown wolf. They were still puppies in need of protection.

She slipped the bag between her teeth before climbing the tree.

Soon she reached her spot at the very top and sat making herself comfortable again.

She opened the bag and revealed a little case. She opened it an gasped a little. It was an bronze necklace with an amber acorn. She smiled a little at the message in it.

"Aye that is a kiss, a powerful kiss."

It was from Luca, he remembered her favorite movie of all time. Peter pan. He added that he kept the thimble as a keychain.

She opened up the other package and smiled at the charm bracelet. It had 5 wolves. Two bronze, one silver, one gold and one in black silver. There was a small tag with writings on it.

"Our family sticks together." - William Harris.

She smiled and put on the jewelry.

She felt happy that she could see her brothers. But sad she could've stay with them.

"We miss you already now." Luca's voice filled her head. She shook her head at the thought of him stoping not far away to speak to her.

"Shut up. Please hurry up and find that pond and wash off before you go home." She replied with the mind link.

She sighed in content. Feeling quiet happy.

Maybe. Just maybe I can make it.
