"Creeps in like a theif in the night,

Without a sign

Without a warning.

We are ready and prepared to fight,

Raise up your swords. Don't be afraid."

-War Of Change by Thousand Foot Krutch

Kai and Tailor, like the Mermaid said, were already transformed sitting together as the Angel strapped on a bag and some other things to his person.

"You guys ready?" He asked. The mermaid nodded for them both and stroked the fur behind Kira's ear lovingly then ruffled the top of her head. It was quite comforting and Kira found herself leaning into the touch.

<Aquata you can ride on me. Chase, what do you want to do?> Kai changed into alpha mode. Taking care of his pack was important to him.

"I can fly from up top and send messages to you. Is that okay?" He asked. He pushed back his blonde hair and tucked the longer strands behind his ear.

<That would be perfect. Let me know if anything comes up.> The alpha ordered. They and Kira watched intently on how pure white, beautiful, feathery wings sprouted from his back. A halo of light appeared over his head. He almost seemed too blinding to look at, even the purest child paled in comparison to him.

"I'll be off now." He stated and his strong wings lifted him into the air above the trees. As he majestically flew off and Kira found it hard to turn her trained eyes from him. He was just so captivating.

<wow!> Kira exclaimed. Her wide eyes watched as he got smaller and smaller into the sky. Like a child seeing their favorite animal for the first time.

"Was it your first time seeing an Angel in flight, Kira?" Aquata asked as she wrapped a dark purple cloak around her shoulders and pulled the hood up over her head, concealing most of her face in darkness.

<It's my first time seeing a Angel all together.> she mumbled. Her ears turned upward and she turned to the mermaid and a small smile was appeared on her face.

<well, if you guys are done fawning over wing boy up there then we can finally get going?> Tailor snapped. Her smaller bodied Fox began running, leaving the rest behind.

<Please get on Aquata. You can start following her Kira.> Kai ordered. Kira nodded her head and ran after the fox, trying to keep up with the fast and cunning girl.

They ran for a while before Kai caught up, the mermaid holding on for dear life on his back. She bounced and her hood threatened to slip off so she had to let go one hand to fix it every now and then.

It took her a while but then she finally realized...

< I can't smell!> she shrieked in surprise. Nevertheless she kept up the pace, running next to her alpha.

"It's the potion. Because it's taking away your scent it's also taking away your sense of smell temporarily. Do not be alarmed though. It should return in a few hours. Do not fear, it leaves no lasting effects." The mermaid replied, calm and collected. Her body stuck close to that of Kai. She held on tight as to not fall off at the speed they were going at.

Kira huffed in response, she was about to speak but the Skin Walker beat her to it with a hearty yet mocking laugh.

<wow! You just realized that you were missing something! You'd make a horrible alpha!> she snorted before laughing again.

<leave me alone.> the already irate girl mumbled picking up speed next to her alpha.

<I mean... Really! How can you be such an idiot as to not realize you can't smell! I bet you'd lead your pack right into danger. If anyone decided to even join your pack that is!> Tailor teased viciously. Her words were like iced poison, ripping at her skin and pushing her over the limits. She was getting angry.

<back off Tailor. If she kills you that won't be her fault. You'd have no one to blame but yourself.> the alpha warned and the Skin Walker laughed again.

<kill me? I can just turn into a Asian water monitor and rip her to shreds!> she giggled again. The angry male alpha suddenly pounced on her, surprising everyone, pushing her down into submissive hold. Baring his sharp teeth at her and snarling on her face.

She wriggled and whined, <Wanna try that on me, Tailor? Go ahead. Defy me and watch as I rip your throat out and paint your fur in your pretty pretty blood. Go. Ahead. Try me.> he threatened. His nose testing her and nudging at her, taunting her.

She whined even more and tried to escape.

"Kai! Stop it! Get off of her! Calm down. Please!" Tears gathered at the Mermaid's eyes. She pet his hair as she tried to push him off, rocking back and forth on him and lightly pushing at him him with her heels.

For a moment he felt torn between listening to the sobbing girl on his back and teaching his pack member a lesson in obeying.

His wolf snorted before pushing off of the much smaller fox. He silently talked to Aquata as she wrapped her arms around his large neck in a somewhat hug and sniffled into his fur while the fox got up and sat to the side with her head bowed in submission.

<Apologize.> he ordered, he had calmed down a lot but it was overly obvious that he wasn't quite please with the girl. When she seemed to still be stubborn he reared up and landed harshly and demanded, <Apologize was my order! Did you not hear me!?>

<sorry Kira. I'm.... Still being trained I guess. But I'm still a Skin Walker at heart. Sorry I guess.> she mumbled, her face directed away from Kira and a small huff left her frame.

Kira snorted and trotted the short distance to her, she carefully and affectionately rubbed her snout on the Fox's neck.
<it's fine. It reminds me of home. So don't worry about being mean. Just don't piss off my wolf or she'll be the one to kill you.> Kira reassured.

She was ready to forgive always. Whenever Luca would accidentally do something and give her the look, the same look Tailor was giving her, she would be obligated to forgive him. Holding him as his pout turned into a smile.

<so we good?> she asked. The sly face of the fox coming to rest next to her. She pushed her playfully before humming a yes.

"What's the hold up down there? If we don't get there soon nightfall with catch us and I wouldn't want Aquata out here at night." A lovely voice of the angel rang through all of their heads. Their heads all shot up, all the could see is the faint glow of his silhouette in the high sky.

And soon they all began running again. The Fox and the Wolf running together and teasing one another every so often. The. The fox spoke up again.

<but really... How did you not realize that you couldn't smell?> she asked. Her voice wasn't harsh and mean like it was before but now it was more curious and concerned.

<I- I don't know. I guess it's because I'm already used to not smelling you guys and I've been living in the forest for what? A few weeks? So it didn't really cross my mind... But then we ran past a dead rabbit and I realized I didn't smell the blood it just kind of scared me.> the wolf sheepishly explained.

<well I'll be your nose and smell for you then.> the fox assured before pushing her a bit roughly but playful enough before speeding up ahead and laughing like a maniac.

And so the Fox and the Wolf ran together.
