The next day I woke up with a raging headache. My head pounded, a usual side effect of the blue drink. I rolled over in my bed, the mountain of pillows swallowing me as I pulled the comforter up to my neck. I took a deep breath as I closed my eyes, nuzzling my face into the pillow.

A flash of last night appeared in my mind. I shook my head with a groan. I couldn't believe I did that. I let him get close enough to kill me...to kiss me.

I did my best to push Bucky from my mind as I buried my face in my pillow again. I was almost back to sleep when I heard a small knock at the door.

"Yes?" I called as I tried to hide under my comforter.

"Heiress, I have your breakfast," one of my maids voice came from the opposite side of the door.

"Come in," I said opening my eyes. I started to sit up as she entered a large smile on her face.

"Good morning," she spoke quietly. The people in my house seemed to know the routine of my hangovers I realize as she handed me a small shot glass with three aspirin in it.

"Thank you," I smiled pushing my matted hair from my face as I look the small aspirin. The maid took my empty shot glass, handing me a glass of water. I downed it all one go before setting it on the nightstand where she had my plate of breakfast.

"You're an angel," I half smiled as I squinted up at her.

"Thank you Heiress," she smiled handing me a plate of toast before she moved to the opposite side of my bed. She reached up opening the curtains that covered the large window letting the winter's sunlight in. I turned my ahead away from the bright light.

I took a piece of toast from the plate and was about to take a bite when Annali came bursting through the door with Jonathan in tow.

"Heiress there's been a shooting at one of your shops," Annali bent over slightly as she caught her breath. She looked up at me a shocked expression in my face as I threw the comforter off of me and moved to my closet.

"What?" I asked as I reached for the first jeans I could find.

Jonathan steps outside closing the door behind him and the maid, leaving Annali and I alone.

"Which shop?" I asked changing out my pajamas and into the jeans and a t shirt, as Annali pulled up security footage on her tablet.

"It's Lee's, the grocery store," She explained as I sat on the bed, bending down to tie my boots.

"Is anyone hurt?"

"Yes two women dead, six are badly injured," my heart sank. That grocery store was a local, family owned business who I had helped get on their feet after Lee's wife and daughter were killed in a car accident. He was a good man, paid his rent on time, and didn't fuss when I said I need to use the basement as a place for my men and women to build guns and create ammunition for me.

"Someone get Detective Ramos on the phone," I demanded standing up and walking out my room as I pulled my matted hair up into a bun.

"I've been trying to get ahold of him, but he's not answering," Annali said as she ran to catch up with me.

"Then get me another detective on our payroll!" I snapped as Jonathan followed the two of us down the hallway and past my office.

"Any cops on our payroll I need dispatched there immediately,"

"They are already there Heiress," Annali explained and I inhaled sharply through my nose, closing my eyes for a moment as I felt the pounding of my headache.
