"Have you talked to Nicholai?" I asked my boyfriend

He's sitting on the floor while I'm on his bed leaning my head against the headboard.

We're currently wrapping gifts for our families and friends this coming Christmas.

"Yeah, he's trying to reach out for Freya but she just won't answer," Theo said while wrapping his gift for Abuela

Freya and Nicholai are not on good terms right now. It's all because of Dein. Freya's ex.

I caught Freya yesterday crying inside her room, hugging her knees. I asked her what's the problem and she told me everything.

I'm her best friend after all.

"Just give them time. Both of them are at fault."

Theo shrugged and continued to wrap gifts

"Do you think Dein is hitting on Freya?" I asked him.

He chuckled and glanced at me

"If ever he is, it's not gonna work. But make sure to guard your best friend. She might get confused. Hopefully, not."

I sighed...

I surely will guard her...

She's in a good relationship right now and I don't want her to do something that she'll regret.

I trust her, don't get me wrong.

I just wanna make sure.

- how about coffee?

I stared at Dein's message and sighed.

He's been asking me to go out since this morning. And I kept on declining.

I know that I told him I can be a friend but he's been causing some trouble with Nic and I's relationship.

I still can't believe how Nicholai was able to say those things to me.

Maybe he does not love me enough to trust me.

Or maybe it's my fault.

I was about to reply and decline Dein when Minnie snatched my phone from me

"Hey!" I glared at her, she gave me an eye roll and kept my phone inside her pocket

"No phones. We're here to go shopping." She said and gave me a sweet smile

I made a face and was about to snatch my phone back when Vivian came with an Iced Americano in her hands

"Let's go?" She asked

I completely forgot to inform you. We've entered a shopping center to purchase gifts for our families. It's last-minute shopping for those who haven't received anything from us yet. Fortunately, I have enough money set aside for this.

"Did you get Nicholai any present?" Vivian asked as we enter a boutique.

I felt sad as I thought of Nicholai. After our fight last night, I'm not sure how I'll approach him. I'm terrified of picking up the phone and answering his calls. He might say something hurtful once more. I'm not used to Nicholai uttering derogatory things. To me, in particular.

"Y-Yes of course," I answered 

Minnie scoffed causing Vivian to look at her

"I thought you'll not give him any gifts because of your fight," Minnie uttered and checked some clothes in the women's section.
