CHAPTER TWELVE

"Do I look okay?" I asked Theo

He gave me a thumbs up

"C'mmon dude, Don't be too nervous. Her parents are nice" He said and pat my back

We're on our way to Freya's house down the block. Minnie and Freya are talking about something ahead of us. They told us that we should stroll behind them because they're having a girl talk.

"How do I smell?" I asked Theo 

he tsked and smelled me

"You smell great dude. They'll like you, I promise" He said and smiled at me

I'm a nervous wreck. My palms are sweating as I carry a box of cupcakes for Freya's mother and a case of beer for Freya's father. She said that her father enjoys beer, so I bought some with Theo at a neighboring grocery store earlier.

I attempted to take deep breaths in and out to calm myself down, but when I realized we were getting close to their house, I felt like peeing on my pants.

"We're here! I miss your parents" Minnie said while clinging onto Freya's arms

we all stopped at the door and waited for Freya to knock

When she knocked on the door, my breath came to a halt. And I nearly died as the door opened to show her parents, who look exactly like her.

"We've been waiting for you!" Mrs. Jumaoas squealed and gestured us to come inside their house while Mr. Jumaoas stared at us intimidatingly--wait, no---he's only staring at me.

When we got inside their house I handed the cupcakes to Freya's mother.

"I bought it for you Mrs. Jumaoas. I hope you like cupcakes" I said and smiled politely

Theo, Minnie, and Freya stood there in front of Mrs. Jumaoas, watching me sweat. Fortunately, she smiled at me as she took the box.

"Thank you, Nicholai. Oh---you have beers?" She said and eyed the can of beers that I'm holding

I gulped and took a glance at Freya's father who's staring at me with no expression.

"Uh... Freya mentioned that your husband likes beer. I bought it for him" I said and smiled, hoping that there is no awkwardness in my voice.

Because Freya's father is still staring at me as if he's about to skin me alive, I was about to turn to my friends and seek for their assistance. But then—-he smiled at me and snatched the plastic bag from my grip, teasingly pointing at Freya.

"I like him already. You have good taste my daughter" He said and wiggled his eyebrows

"DAD!" Freya said while her face is flushed because of embarrassment while Theo and Minnie are laughing their asses off

"So when's the wedding?" Her mom suddenly asked, making my eyes wide

"MOM?! SERIOUSLY?!"

The sun is setting but the laughter in Jumaoas residence did not fade. 

I'm currently assisting Freya's mother in grilling barbeques as her husband consumes the alcohol I purchased. He's staring at her daughter, who is splashing water on Theo and Minnie inside an inflatable pool.

"SHORTY! YOU MIGHT DROWN!" Theo teased her girlfriend who's trying to dive causing Feya to laugh hard

"Why are you laughing? You're a shorty too" Theo said and burst out laughing
