Hunter hovered over Viney as she worked. Amity had suggested the twins (Emira specifically) should bring the healer-track girl over so she could look over the enby. Hunter had agreed as long as neither the twins nor Viney knew who the two of them were.
Viney paused in her look over and sighed. "Hey, I get you're worried, but do you mind leaving me alone for a moment? I promise as soon as I'm done- or as soon as they wake up- I will come get you. Alright?"
"Oh. Um, sure. Sorry if I was being a bother," Hunter apologized and walked out of the spare room they were using as a temporary infirmary.
When he got to the main kitchen, Eda was digging around the cupboards for something. Luz and Amity were nowhere to be found, but the twins were annoying the owl lady.
The two paused in their antics as Hunter entered the room. Edric blushed slightly at the teen prodigeé, who sat down at the island/table as Eda placed a few boxes on the aforementioned island. "Oh hey… Hunter, right? I'll have to get used to using that name for you," she said as she checked a note in her right hand while using her dominant hand to grab a bowl from under the counter.
"Yeah, I guess you will. I… think if my friend turns out alright I'll take you up on your offer. We might have to fake a capture and death so Belos doesn't come looking for me… but we can work on the later," the blond replied casually.
Eda, who was distracted, left out a 'uh-huh' before actually registering what the boy had said. She paused what she was doing (putting down the note) and looked directly at Hunter in shock. "Wait, really? You wanna leave that stupid dusty coven?" He nodded. Eda straightened, placing her hands on her hips and smiling. "Well. Welcome to the family, Hunts."
"Don't call me that. But yeah, I guess I am a part of your makeshift family now, huh?" He drew a circle on the table, avoiding Eda's stare. "Though it might take some getting used to, I… would like a semi-normal life. Besides, everything of importance to me is already here."
"Uh… hi? Me & Ed are still here," Emira said awkwardly. Eda and Hunter turned their heads to look at the pair. Ed rubbed the back of his head. "So sorry about her. It just was kinda weird and like we were missing something in that conversation."
Eda shrugged. "Eh, don't worry about it. Now, where's Luz? I gotta tell her she's gettin' a brother." And with that, the witch ran out of the room to find the human.
Hunter turned sideways on his chair so he could better face the twins. "So. You two are the other Blight children. I have met your sister since she's close with the human, and I'll be honest, I was getting a little curious about her siblings."
Emira introduced herself and then her brother, who was studying the tired boy. His hair looks so soft… And I could just fall into his beautiful pink eyes… Wait, what am I saying? I'm sure he's already in a relationship with how gorgeous he is. Besides, it's likely he likes that person Viney's taking care of, Edric thought.
The greenet hadn't realized he'd zoned out until Em elbowed him in the side. Edric shook his head before asking, "Sorry, I zoned out. What were we talking about?" Hunter raised an eyebrow at the male with hazelish-gold eyes.
"We were discussing my friend in the other room, Edric," Hunter replied, standing up.
The male crossed his arms before answering Emira's question. "The reason I haven't been using their name in front of everyone is because the last time someone besides me referred to them with their real name that person was in an infirmary for a week. Plus it makes them panic since there are some bad memories they have been associating their name with. If you are going to talk with them, you can call them… actually, I don't know what you should call them. I'll ask when they wake up."
"Well then you're in luck. They just woke up. But, uh, Hunter, can I talk to you privately before you see them?" Viney asked, appearing in the doorway.
After the twins moved to the living room, Viney nervously began to explain why they were coughing up blood.
"Due to dirty bandages they had been using as unsafe binding and as, well, bandages, there was an almost infected wound on their back. The binding caused bruising on their ribs/lungs which led to the blood-coughing. Other than that they're healthy. A little under-fed, a couple other bruises and cuts, but healthy. Also I asked them about you and… they seem to think you're dead. So approach them slowly, ok? They're still waking up and a little confused from the blood loss," the healer girl explained. Hunter nodded.
Hunter watched her leave, waving at him as she did so. Before she crossed the threshold to the living room, he heard her say, "Also if you need any help just say. Or call, I guess." He nodded.
The door clicked shut quietly & he just stood there for a second. Taking a deep breath, he started to climb the stairs to see Nex.

Once he got there, Nex was sitting up, wrapped in a blanket. They only had their pants and a new binder on, probably gifted to them by that Viney girl. Their lower torso was wrapped in bandages & so was one of their feet and upper arms.
Hunter slowly walked towards them. "Nex..?"
They turned to him, staring for a second before a hoarse version of the voice he once knew replied, "Are you real this time..?"
Hunter quickly sat next to them, smiling as tears tried to form. "Yeah, yeah I'm really this time. I'm so fucking happy to see you."
Nex tentatively reached out a hand, placing a hand on his cheek. He placed his hand over their's, smiling as tears spilled out of their red and white eyes. They buried their face in his chest, hugging him tightly. "You're okay… I thought they caught & killed you before I passed out… I was so fucking worried Hunter…"
He hugged back, refusing to let go as they both fell asleep & stayed a sleep for the lost time in a while.
