Chapter 7: Placement, Maps, & Planning

When Eda, Luz, and King got up, they found Hunter and Lost already awake. Hunter was dressed, but both were shoveling cereal into their mouths as they discussed the location of everything.

"So we know that the Cursed Rosen bush is up by the Crown, but where the hell do we find Fire Tears?" Lost asked, looking at the scroll they'd stolen just a day ago.

"Maybe it's something like boiling rain..?" Hunter tapped at the paper with his spoon. "But let's think about the setup once we get it. It says you can remove more than one mark at one time, but a few things might have to be gathered for the specific amount you are removing..."

Lost glanced at the three standing and watching them. "Oh hi guys. Do we plan to get Raine out and then remove the marks? 'Cause then we have to plan their escape. I think we should plan that, gather the supplies, then remove the marks. So once we get them to the house we can immediately get rid of these dumb things. Plus we'd have to have Lilith come here..."

"How long have you been up?!" Eda asked, a little concerned for the two's mental health. Hootie crashed through the window. "They've been up since 3AM hoot!" Lost shrugged. "We couldn't sleep as we figured, 'hey! Might as well be productive!'." They shoved another spoon of 'Cinnablast Spells' into their mouth.

"That is not healthy. You guys have to sleep at some point," Luz pointed out. Hunter leaned his arms on the table, looking at the human. "Don't you have to call your girlfriend and her siblings?" Luz blushed when he called Amity her girlfriend, muttering something about her figuring it could wait. Lost stood up and stretched. "Well I suppose I should go get dressed then." They headed for the basement where the box of clothes was.

Hunter was wearing an oversized white camp t-shirt over a red plaid hoodie and a pair of black sweatpants with gold stripes down the sides. He was stocking footed at the moment and also had put a black choker over a silver key necklace. "Nice necklace kid," Eda commented as she sat down with her cup of apple blood. He nodded. Luz was shoveling cereal in her mouth and talking to Amity on her little device.

"Luz! You're getting cereal on Francois! He will have your head!" King yelled. She swallowed hard. "Oh, sorry King and Francois," she smiled. "Eda, I have school tomorrow, so why don't you guys hunt then rather than now?"

Eda smiled then shook her head. "No, I think Hunter and Lost are a bit anxious to get rid of their coven marks. But we will probably try to break Raine tomorrow... When are the Blight kids getting here?" "I'm going to get dressed then go pick them up, so can I take Owlbert?" Luz responded.

Eda nodded.

After everyone was ready, Luz left to get Amity and the twins. Eda had changed into her usual red dress, but had swapped shoes for a pair of boots that matched color with her earrings. Lost was wearing a pair of jeans, black high-top shoes, and a bubblegum hoodie that had a small crown on the front. Their hair was up in a small ponytail today.

"Hey, I'm going to go call Lilith, you two stay out of trouble, alright?" Eda said, pulling a crow-phone out of her hair. Hunter barely bothered to give her a thumbs-up as the two continued playing Raine's escape and the search for all the ingredients/supplies. She shook her head at the pair before walking out the door.

"Hmmm... I remember where Raine's office is, so if someone sneaks in to get anything useful there it could help distract from us breaking them out... but we could also have someone else cause a disturbance far away to lower the number of guards they undoubtedly have..." Hunter said, pointing to different spots on the map as he talked.

Lost nodded. "But we should also try to get the other B.A.T.s out as well... they could be using the group against Raine. Or we get them out, have them cause a disturbance with the twins far away, get Raine out, then regroup here to remove our coven marks. But before we even start breaking people out we have to gather supplies, it'll be fast that way. If we don't remove the marks fast, Kiki can use them to trap us or find us. And that would put everyone in danger, which we don't want."

"I don't know about including the twins, Amity might not take too kindly to us putting them in danger..."

"But without them, we could get caught and that would be worse."

"True, but I still don't think Amity will be okay-"

"What won't I be okay with?" Amity demanded, causing the pair to jump. "Wow, when you two work on something, you do not care about anything else, do you?" Luz said, closing the door after the twins.

Lost nodded then went back to the map. Hunter turned to address the rest of the group. "Lost thinks we should help the B.A.T.s escape before Raine so they and the twins can cause a disturbance far away from the Conformatorium. They think it'll be easier to get Raine out if there are less guards around. But I'm not so sure..." he explained.

Amity walked over to where Lost was marking down hiding spots, hidden exits, keys, and other important spots on the map. "What's the star for?" she asked. Lost barely glanced at her before responding. "The star is the Warden's office. We can find the master key, better maps, and a very special button there."

"What's the button?" Edric asked, moving so he was standing next to Hunter. Hunter and Lost stared at each other for a second before Lost finally replied. "It's the button that signifies someone's escape, but it also orders all the guards to chase down the escapees. If possible, we need someone to distract the Warden and someone to keep watch of his office. Everyone else will be helping Raine escape. Hmmm, maybe I should..." they trailed off, muttering to themselves.

Hunter laughed at them before turning to Luz and the Blights. "While they figure that out, why don't we go practice my 'death'? That's the real reason I wanted you all to come anyway."

He picked up a sheet of paper and held it out. "This is the general plan/idea I had. If you have anything better, we can probably do that."

They all looked it over before Luz spoke up. "I dunno Hunter... it seems pretty risky. What if it doesn't look real enough?"

"It will. Remember how Kiki was trying to get her stead to eat me when you first saw my face? It's kinda like that. I capture you and maybe one of your friends, you shake the cage so I lose control and fall, an abomination catches me. Plus Lost, using one of your invis-glyphs, will land it safely after the call ends from my scroll falling with me. Simple!" he explains.

Amity nodded. "I think we can do it. But why did you need the twins?"

"Oh, I need them to help make it look like something ate my body. Plus I don't really want to care Luz above the clouds so they need to make it look like that," Hunter replied, waving a hand. Emira and Edric shared a grin. "We can do that!"

(I didn't expect this chapter to get so long. wow. anyway, updates my start to slow slightly as I ran out of stuff that's pre-written, but I'm not gonna stop updating. if I every get unmotivated I'll add an A/N or something. have a nice day/night!)
