------------------------------------

Luz caught up to Amity, Gus, and Willow during lunch. "Heeeeey... how would you all feel about hanging out at my house tonight? It's just, Eda and the others probably won't be back till late and I'll be bored all alone..."

Amity smiled. "I'd love to come over. How's Lost and Hunter, by the way?" Luz smiled. "Oooh. Do you care about them, Amity? You going soft?" she teased. Amity turned into her signature tomato. "What? No, of course not."

Luz giggled, before Gus cut off the couple's little moment. "I agree to come if A; you two don't do that all night, and B; I can bring Matt." Willow nodded. "Sure, I'll come. And I agree with Gus on the first part."

Luz laughed again. "Yeah, I promise I'll try not to do that anymore. But about Matt..." Gus turned on his puppy-dog eyes. "Pllllllease Luzzzz... I deal with you stealing my library card to visit Amity, consider it pay back." Luz sighed. "Alright fine. But I'm worried what Lost and Hunter's reactions to someone unknown at the house will be. Otherwise I'm fine with it."

Gus tightly hugged the human in gratitude. "Thankyouthankyouthankyou!" Willow laughed. "You two have certainly gotten close, huh?" Gus' ears turned pink in embarrassment.

"Uh, yeah, I guess we have. But Luz is to thank, she convinced me to accompany his group to Looking Glass Ruins, and that's where we became friends," Gus replied sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head.

The group sat down at their usual table, the twins quickly passing by with a "Hi Mittens! Bye Mittens!" to annoy Amity. Nothing was much different than any other day. But Luz was happy. She had her friends, a plan, a found family that was slowly growing, and was doing something incredible. She... didn't know what the future had in store, but at this moment, she was content and glad she was here.

------------------------------------

With Hunter, Eda, Lost, and King, they had found almost all the ingredients. The group had flown down to the Knee, which was a long journey, but one of the things they need could be found only at a few specific times.

The times were really random, too.

One was 1:32am, another was 7:28pm, and the last was 11:06 either pm or am.

It was nearing 11:06am as Eda dropped off Owlbert, leaving Lost to control him as she got the most difficult item they needed; fairy teeth from an old oak fairy (just go with it I know it's weird I'm writing this at nearly midnight and I have school in the morning).

King watched nervously as Eda approached the bent and gnarled (is that spelt right? idk) tree. A teen-looking fairy came out, buzzing angrily at the Owl Lady. In an attempt to intimate the fairies, Eda went into harpy mode. The fairy yelped and dove back into the tree, shakily pushing a fairy with wrinkles, closed eyes, and a beard as long as the tree was tall. And as thick as mud.

She dug in the beard for a minute before emerging with four teeth; one for each person that was losing a coven mark. She flew up to Hunter, who held open the bag as she dropped the green and smelly teeth into the bag.

"C-can we go n-now? It's f-freezing!" Lost groaned. Eda shrugged. "Well I'm not cold. Plus we have one more thing to get here." Lost glared at her. "That's because you have a bunch of fluffy feathers all over you!" Eda shrugged. "That's fair I suppose."

"But we do have one more thing to do before we can leave..." Hunter pointed towards a mountain. King jumped from Owlbert to Eda's hair. "Oooh, it's warm in here!"

Lost huffed an annoyed laugh. "W-well let's go get t-that stupid item so we c-can leave." Eda smirked at the freezing child before starting in the direction of the mountains, Hunter following on Rascal.

Lost rolled their eyes before trailing behind.

------------------------------------

When they got to the top of the mountain, a strange carved landing spot greeted them. Lost and Hunter both landed outside the ring, worried it was a trap. Eda continued hovering in the sky, looking around for the Fire Tear Waterfall. It was the third-to-last item they needed, plus it was slowly getting later in the day.

Lost walked closer to the large flat stone, gently brushing snow off it. "Hey, I recognize these marks... they're ancient versions of covens, where you choose to specialize in different magics. You can do other magics, but the one you have chosen is your main magic. This one was their building coven... it specialized in stoneworking, and lumber. They were very strong since they didn't have our modern power glyphs. It was a very hard coven to get into."

Eda finally landed, standing with one hand on her hip. She was in the middle of the carving. Lost's eyes widened as Eda opened her mouth- probably to make some sarcastic remark- when the stone under Eda's boots caved in. Eda was barely able to start flying in time to avoid falling in to the dark forbadding hole.

Everyone stood around the edge, staring down into the black abyss.

Hunter looked up at the others. "So, who wants to go first?" When no one answered, he sighed. "Alright, guess I'll go first." He was about to start flying down when Lost kicked a rock down the hole. It lit up as it fell, revealing dozens of statues and carvings lining the walls.

They all watched as the light disappeared. "Well, now you can go." Lost commented. Hunter took a deep breath before sitting on his staff and starting his descent.

Eda was about to start following him when they noticed Lost was doodling in the snow, a few feet away from the entrance. "Are you coming kid?" the owl lady asked.

They shook their head. "I wanna stay here, in case something goes wrong. Besides... I don't like deep things... like holes... or the ocean... Anyway, I should keep lookout."

Eda gave them a look of concern before she dived down the entrance, King clinging to her hair.
