(Warnings: Mentions of faking death[?], injury, blood loss, I think that's all)(Fanart doesn't matter, might have to look something up but you don't have too)

------------------------------------

The next morning, Eda came to check on Hunter & his friend, who he had yet to introduce. When she opened the door, the enby was laying on him with their face in his chest. Hunter was awake by now, just playing with their slightly matted hair. Rascal was sleeping in the enby's cloak, which was laying on the floor.

"Hey, Hunter, what's your friend's name? You never told us," Eda said, waking over to the couch they were laying on.

Hunter looked at Eda, then back at his friend. "Their name... Well technically, it's Nex. But they don't like being called that so I've been trying to think up a nickname they'd be comfortable with."

He paused as they sat up, stretching enough that the blanket fell off their shoulders. They blinked, readjusting to the light before looking up at Eda. It'd been awhile since they'd seen the owl lady, but Nex still found her intimidating.

They jumped at the sight of another person & fell off the couch, landing hard on their tailbone. "Ow…" they muttered.

Hunter smiled, huffing a laugh at their antics. Eda gave them a weird look, confused. "You okay, kiddo? You're probably still sore, even though that healer girl worked some serious magic." Hunter shook his head. "No I'm pretty sure you startled them."

Nex stood up shakely. "Oh shut up."

Eda looked between the two. "Huh. You two are really close, huh?" They both nodded, Nex picking up the blanket & wrapping it around their shoulders like a cape. Eda glanced at them. "Hey, uh, what should we call you? Hunter said you're not comfortable with us using your name but I gotta call you something."

Nex thought for a few second before replying; "Lost. I... I feel it describes me well." Eda nodded. "Now, we need to discuss the whole faking-death thing. But before that, I'll get you guys some new clothes. I'm sure you'll want some." Hunted shrugged. "I don't mind but N- er, Lost might want some since they haven't changed in what? Three years?"

The newly-dubbed Lost nodded. "About, yeah."

After changing (Hunter ended up changing too), the duo walked downstairs, Lost talking a little longer since they were still sore & dizzy from blood loss.

Eda placed two bowls of cereal in front of them, which was new to Lost but Hunter had had it before & claimed it was good.

Luz introduced herself to Lost, then gave Hunter a hug. "Yay new big brother! And maybe a new older sibling ..?" She said hesitantly. Lost shook their head.

"I'll pass on that offer, little one. Though I'll probably stay here if that's alright," the person replied.

The outfit Lost had chosen was a baggy heather-grey t-shirt from some band from the human realm, black ripped pants, and a dull purple (please look it up it's more pink) beanie while remaining barefoot. Hunter had picked an outfit with ripped blue jeans, a red flannel over a solid white hoodie & some black steel-toed boots.

"Hey, do you want your hair back up?" Hunter asked. The nonbinary child shook their head. "Right now it'll give me a headache. Besides, with the beanie it looks better down." Their ear twitched as they went back to eating their food.

"Ohmygod. You guys have matching ear cuts! Though Lost's looks like their ear was chewed on…" Luz pointed out. Lost turned red out of embarrassment so Hunter answered. "Well, a fairy did try eating their ear once… but the story of the ear slits is severely different."

"Okay but that can wait." Eda said, sitting down next to Luz on the opposite side of the table. "Besides figuring how to fake Hunter's death so he doesn't have to hide all the time, what plans do you guys have for today?"

Lost looked around before saying, "Well I... I suppose I'd like to go get my stuff. But we don't have to, I don't wanna be a bother-" They raised their hands, shaking them in a way that said 'please don't be mad'.

Eda smiled. "Sure kiddo. I've been meaning to ask, what was that staff you were carving when we found you?"

An excited grin spread on Lost's face. "Well for quite some time I've been experimenting with different magical woods in order to find something that would-" They stopped suddenly. "Oh, um, sorry. I'm probably being annoying…" Hunter sighed. "No Lost. You did the same thing back at the Coven. If someone asks about something and you start talking about it excitedly, you are not being annoying. They asked and will listen to what you have to say."

Lost snorted. "Like you're any better than me." He gave them a tired smile before letting out a huff-laugh. "I suppose."

------------------------------------

The group of five fell on the floor, covered in dirt, sweat, & out of breath. "Sweet titan, how did that scout wake up so quick?" King panted, laying across Eda's stomach.

"At... at least we got what we were looking for..." Luz said, looking on the bright side. "You do still have it, right?" The human asked, looking at where Lost was heavily breathing next to the wall.

They reached into their dull blue cloak, dug around for a second, than raised a fist holding a rolled up paper in the air. They didn't say anything verbally, but everyone knew they had it.

The instructions to remove coven marks.
