"but, now, as this is absurd, i would just like you to take this ring as my last gift for you, i would appreciate it. " i nodded my head while pursuing my lips from sobbing more. he slid the ring on my ring finger as kissed my hands for one last time.

he deserves someone better than me.

"i'm sorry for not being the best boyfriend ever." he apologised. his eyes were puffy, his nose and red plump lips were red as the tears were brimming down his rosy bread cheeks.

"no, no! you have always been the best boyfriend ever, as i mentioned before. you never forced yourself upon me, you never failed to show me your love, you poured down all your love on me. it's just that we were never meant to be together. you deserve the best. " i assured him as i held his hands and i was glad that he didn't yank me away.

"what's the point of trying if it just proves that i'll never be good enough?" he grumbledout his emotions and i let him as he needed to do that. "it hurts when i realize i'll never mean that much to you. i'm really sorry for not being the one for you"

"nah, you're perfect, i pushed you away because you deserve better. rather, i should be sorry for not being a good girlfriend-" my sentence was halted by his words.

"nah, hayoon! i'm glad that you chose to stay loyal to me even after falling out of love. at least, you confessed the truth to me rather than cheating behind my back. and, also, our bond was ostensible." he was smiling sadly while conversing, i could clearly see the suffering in his eyes.

"thank you so much for understanding. i'll always remember you! " with that, i hugged him to show gratitude. he even wrapped his hands around me and fondled me back.

"so, are we in the conclusion, now?" he asked, looking at my eyes, to which i nodded. his eyes were teary and tired but still, he was smiling a plain smile to reassure me.

"let's break up, taehyung!"

so, let me illustrate it briefly to you as you might be perplexed.

basically, hayoon, the female lead, was actually dating kim taehyung for 3 years but, in between, taehyung had to go to a business trip because of which they both lost their contact. and, in this meantime, hayoon met mr kim and fell in love.

there are thousands of kims in korea, so it could be any kim other than kim taehyung.

i actually wanted to surprise you all with this twist but i don't know if this worked.
