Chapter 11: Sparkes from a touch (Part 2)

Jahniqui's POV

Flabbergasted for want of a better word is the only reaction I could choke up when I turned and saw Leanna standing behind me. She look radiant in her multicolored gown. The cool colors of aquamarine, blue- both sapphire blue and ocean blue and a lovely shade of green accentuated it beauty. It worked wonders for her skin tone.

She was really rocking that dress, looking like she just emerged off the cover of Vogue magazine. There was something about the attitude towards me the said I had some major ass kissing to do. The ferocious look in her eyes could scare a lion in predatory mood, she was angry.

"Listen I know you're mad at me but-" raising her hand she stopped me mid-sentence. "Mad? You think am mad and damn disgusted by your childish actions. How could you? I get that you had your reasons but not even so much as a phone call?"

Ok great now I feel like the world's worst friend. "Who are you? I don't even recognize you?" She continued to spit gut wrenching insults to my face. Again I wanted to explain but she wouldn't have it. "Save it. Leave just leave I can't bare to look at you!"

Great she hates me now. Nice going Niqui I mumbled under my breath as I walked away from her. Humiliated and embarrassed. Why was she so mad?

After leaving her side I scanned the room for my brother. Needing a giant hole to consume me right this minute. The four corners of my room would be so much better than here.

He was by the bar talking to a few men so I made my way there. Only to find one of those men being my boss.
"Hello gentlemen, may I steal Mr. Valentine for a moment please?" I asked and they all said sure in unison. Smiling politely I dragged him to the side.

"Hey can I borrow your car, I need to get out of here." He gave me a baffled look. "Why, not enjoying the party?"

"No the party is fine it's just...." I trailed off and followed my brother's line of vision since he was no longer paying me any mind. It landed right on Leanna. I looked away when our eyes met because I was too ashamed of myself. She was now fully focused on my brother.

"Weren't you talking that beauty over there a few minutes ago? You two know each other?" My brother questioned as he took a sip of the champagne he was holding.

"Yeah she is or should I was was my best friend until I left and didn't notify her of my whereabouts. So she's pissed and told me she didn't want to see me. That's why I need to get out of here, need to cool off."

"Gosh Niqui how many persons can you tick off at a time? No, no... Don't answer that cause that would be three now. You know what is your problem? You need a man. I think your boss is into you. Couldn't keep his eyes off you. Even though I don't recommend 'the sleeping with my boss thing'. He seems like a nice guy."

His he for real? Xavier probably had too much champagne for bus own good.

"And no am not giving you my car, go catch a cab." He waved me off.

Tears were now effortlessly escaping my eyes as I exited the room. Have I been that stupid? I let my anger ravenously consume me that I didn't realize I was hurting others in the process. Am not deserving of the breath of live anymore.

Xavier's POV

My sister has sunken to an all time low. First her boss, then my client and now her best friend. Now i see why the boss guy is pissed, he likes her. Snorting I shook my head. She really is delusional.

Her friend was one sensationally striking goddess. She epitomizes the comeliness of a museum filled with nothing but exquisite art forms. With hair so expertly styled in a bun to the side, a face that illuminated pure perfection; she stood ever so gracefully and demonstrated great aplomb in dealing with her counterparts. Ever since i layed my eyes on her about an hour ago, the urge to pursue her grew. The gentle sway of her hips sent a negligible amount of shivers throughout my body. What with that?

She wore that dress like she was doing it a favor believe me.

Holding my head straight and chin upwards I approached her with confidence scratching the surface of outer space. It emanated off me like a second suit. "Hello beautiful." She looked up at me as I easily towered over her at 6 feet plus. A small smile played on her lips. "Hi dear. Was wondering when you would waltz over here to apologize for your sister's actions."

Now I know the highly fueled source of Niqui's blatant bluntness. She is constantly surrounded by negative energy."Whoa! Whoa. I came here to innocently converse with an amazing woman and to find that am the subject of such abuse, am hurt." She looked taken a back by the statement.

Without faking the hurt I incessantly progressed. "Whatever you and my sister have going on, it's no reason to attack a man who finds you attractive. Apparently the level of misguided energy you have radiating off you is peaked high enough to power a sugar estate for a whole month. Now if you'll excuse me i've got better things to do with my time. And oh, before I forget. Do have a wonderful night." A coy smile crossed my lips as i winked at her and strode off into the thick crowd leaving her awestruck.

Seriously? The women of this generation doesn't fail to blow things out of proportion. What did i ever do to that her? Even when its their fault they pass it on to you.

Unf*cking believable. God definitely need to work on their sex gender it needs a make over.

Now I seriously need to find my sister. Only she can relieve me of this tension. That's what I love about her, always give a listening ear to your stress. Her friend can kiss my black ass for all I care. Gross dude you are white the inner me countered. Good thing I didn't bump into Tishan tonight cause that would have escalated very quickly and worsen my already foul mood.
