Alison's POV
All I was able to do throughout the entire ride to Emily's work center was stare at her. I mean who the hell looks this hot in gym clothes? And those bright pink crop leggings and black zip up jacket just go great with her complexion and body.
It was a long moment until I finally managed to look away from her. It was then that I noticed that we arrived at a very familiar building. Except that the building looked like it was under reconstruction. Was she the one that bought my family's old building? Is that the reason why she moved here? There are just so many questions I want to ask her at this moment. But I know I'll have to wait until the perfect time in order to not seem too suspicious.
"So.. Those girls in the lot, are you friends with them?" I ask her nervously. Already knowing the answer.
"Yeah, I met them my first day here. They helped me move in and I guess we just clicked" she responded in a monotone voice without taking her eyes away from the road ahead, even though we were already parked.
Is she mad at me? Or did those girls tell her something to have upset her? "So what did they say?"
"They just said that you're CeCe Drake's sister and were wondering how I knew you"
There's definitely something shes not telling me, I just know it. "Oh, yeah she's my little sister. Ce and those girls went to school together"
"Little?"
"Yes. She just turned 20 not too long ago, I'm 26. I'm supposed to be taking care of her. But after all that's happened, it's more like she's the one taking care of me" I answer her truthfully. Why did I just tell her that?
"You mean after your accident?" She snaps at me, now finally turning to look at me. I should be glad for her eye contact, if only it wasn't a glare.
Ouch!. Okay now that hurt. "Um no. Actually my mom had an affair with her dad when I was a kid and ended up getting pregnant. My dad found out about it and in return refused anything to do with another man's child. My mom on the other hand agreed. She always agreed with him on everything, or the money's sake. I remember thinking that my mom was just fat. I mean what is a 4 year old supposed to think when she sees her mom gain so much weight and never bring back a baby?" I say trying to laugh in order to suppress my tears from escaping. Emily's reaction remained the same nonetheless.
"I didn't know that CeCe even existed until she was maybe around 5 or 6 years old. That's when her dad abandoned her and our mom had no choice but to take her in. It was either that or she would be put into foster homes until she was adopted by someone. My dad was absolutely livid about that, so he of course left us. And ever since then she's been feeling extremely guilty saying that it was her fault that my dad left me. Truthfully, I didn't even care that he left because my mother would never be around when he was anyways. I guess in the end I was just glad that I had someone around to talk to and not be so alone anymore" I finish as I wipe away a lone tear I didn't even knew escaped.
Emily then looks at me with sad eyes and a look of guilt for a split moment, that is until something in her snaps and she gives me a dirty look instead.
"Bravo Alison. That was some very nice acting you just did right there. Although you should know that I heard about your little reputation from just about everyone in this town. So I know that you are just playing with me. Making up some bullshit excuse and lying straight to my face about you needed my help. Do you always do this kind of shit to everyone, trying to get some kind of sick pleasure out of it? Or are you really just that mean and only do it because you want something from me!?" She growls out at me, this time with real anger in her tone.
