A/N; I haven't rewatched this show in forever, so low-key some things mightn't be correct lol

"Holy shit, Kags! Your place looks amazing!" Hinata exclaimed, jumping about and admiring how tidy his friends place was kept.

He shook his head in disbelief, Hinata could really see the smallest things and still find ways to why it was awesome.

"Thanks? My mom would usually decorate the house in small little things, like setting plants on some shelves. She's currently in work, a lot of big products are almost due."

"Really? What did you say she worked as again?"

"Fashion designer. Her work is amazing, but she stays in the office some nights because of it. Once they're done, she given a couple weeks off to rest."

"That's sick! Well, obviously it's not, over working isn't healthy, but it's cool that she's passionate about it, yknow?"

"Over working isn't healthy? Shouldn't you take your own advice?" He chuckled.

"Hey! Shut it, you're the same!" The two laughed a little before getting stuck into their homework.

"... Hey, Kageyama? Wan-"

"No."

"What!? I didn't even say anything!"

"We've literally only started this half an hour ago, and you've already asked about volleyball twice."

"... Please?"

Ignoring his plea, Kageyama went back into his work. Hinata was older, yet here he is giving puppy dog eyes, hoping to fool the setter. While tempted, he hadn't forgotten about his injury.

"Daichi gave us time off to rest. We'll be back to practice soon."

"Yeah, until Monday! Yknow how many days that is? 4 days.  4 DAYS KAGEYAMA! 4 DAYS WITHOUT VOLLEYBALL!?"

Give Kageyama strength he doesn't kill this tiny thing next to him-

He let out a sigh, before Hinata got the message and continued on his work.

Not that it mattered, he was just glad to be in a new environment. He felt like a proper teenager, forgetting about his home problems and spending time with one of his best friends.

After some time had passed, with homework out of the way, the two bickering back and forth without anyone stopping them, then laughing about it; the setter had changed the TV channel and put on a random program. Did it matter what show? Nope, it was simply for background noise.

He got lost in thought again. The week's events slowly started to build on him, his stress levels silencing everything and anything around him.

What was he supposed to do now? He had somehow convinced her to let him stay over, but then what? He'll have to go back Monday. What kind of fucking friend would he be if he let his best friend return to a life like that-

"Ow, ow ow! What the fuck, Hinata!" He yelled, holding his ear that his friend had grabbed.

"Stop ignoring me, man! I've been calling you like a hundred times! What's wrong with you?"

"Uhh..." How does he answer this? 'Oh, yeah, I've just been thinking about how you have to live with a crazy lady after a few nights. Oh and let's not forget the physical harm involved, and that you would have to live like that, and with me knowing that I allow my closest friend to be hurt!'

Yeeaahhh. No.

Clearly nervous, his silence only answers Hinata's question, "So there is something. Alright then, spill it. We're friends after all, right?"

Hiding his hands over his face, the raven head mentally prepared himself. He knew he has to discuss this, but so soon!? How would you even bring this up? Would this ruin their friendship? Would this-

He mental train of thought stopped when he felt something pull on his arm, staring at what happened before looking to the boy in front of him, a frown written on his face.

"I've seen you stressed, but nothing compared to this. I know it's probably difficult to process, but I'm here. No matter how silly it is."

His heart sank. Here he was, Kageyama Tobio, the King of the Court, a man afraid of nothing, being comforted from his own thoughts.

This wasn't right, the roles are supposed to be reversed! He should be comforting him.

"I... No, Hinata. Stop... I- I'm sorry, but stop trying to help me. Not with what's really going on..."

"What? What are you ..." He voice slowly went quieter.

The dots connected. He knew what this conversation was about to consist of.

Him.

He saw. The suspension was there, but he wasn't 100% sure if he knew what happened.

He did.

Now he's fucked.

"... Hinata, about that women..." He was afraid to continue, biting his tongue. Once he says this one sentence, it confirms everything. "She's abusing you, isn't she..?"

Just like glass, the world shattered around both of them. Everything was in slow motion, everything is happening at once.

How could this happen? Why did he have to find out!? Oh god, his sister. What'll happen to her? If Kageyama tells, would she be taken away?

fuck

Fuck

Fuck!

FUCK!

"H- Hinata, breathe! I- I'm sorry! But something about this needs done! Don't you see how toxic this is!?" He gently grazes his hand against his shoulder, the one that had been injured with glass.

This small gesture was enough to send Hinata over the edge, shoving his hand off of him. His rage overflowing the already fragile glass.

"You. Don't know anything about what happened. You don't know anything of what it's like. So drop it."

His cold, dead change of demeanor sent chills down the setter's spine. Never had he heard this tone from the usual energetic, full of life, teen.

Frozen, Hinata took this opportunity to get up from his spot on the sofa, "I'm going for a walk."

Coming back to his sense, he grabbed his wrist, "No. We need to talk about this. How long has this been going on for? Why didn't you say anything...?" Angry at first, he tried speaking in a soft tone to his spiker, not wanting to upset him more; despite him trying to pull his hand away, failing.

"Why in the hell would you care!? This is my problem! Alright!? My. Fucking. Problem!"

"Shoyo, please." He stopped resisting at his first name being used so suddenly.

"You are one of my closest friends, my first real friend. Despite my name having a bad rep, you pushed past that. Although we hated each other, we're a team. You've helped me in so many ways, so please... Let me help you... I wish I could say I know how you feel, but I don't. All I know is that I'm here for you, no matter what..."

He slowly loosened his grip, still holding him, as he said his peace and awaited his response.

...

"... I'm going for a walk." He spoke, but in a calmer, yet cold tone. Pulling his wrist back to his side, he kept his eyes down-casted as he made his way to the front door.

Now on his own, Kageyama released a breath he didn't realise he was holding, crouching down and hiding his face in his hands.

"You fucked up, Tobio... Big time..."
