While I was reading a chapter that talked about satellites and drowning myself in the wonderful voice of Billie Eilish, I felt a tap on my shoulder. I looked up and saw Adekunle's friend smiling at me.

Okaaaaayyyyy???

I removed one of my air pods and raised a brow at him, an obvious indication telling him to speak. I don't really like talking to people I'm not that familiar with. Not saying we haven't talked a few times before but it wasn't something serious.

"Hey" Timileyin said with a smile.

"Hi. How can I help you?" I asked him, my brows still raised.

"Yeah so I wanted to talk to you" he said a smile still on his face.

"Sure. What about?" I asked him, relaxing in my seat and folding my arms.

"Can I sit?" He asked gesturing towards the chair opposite me and I just shrugged. If he wants to sit, he can sit.

He shot me a smile and sat down on the chair. After he had made himself comfortable on his chair, he sat up and looked at me with a serious face as if he's some FBI agent doing an investigation. He cleared his throat.

"Um how are you?" He started. Sorry to sound rude but I'd rather go back to my astronomy book than have a conversation with a friend of Adekunle which I lowkey feel he sent to me.

"I'm fine. Now what do you want?" I asked getting straight to the point. He smiled.

Observation one: this dude LOVES smiling.

"Okay. I was just wondering if we could be friends? Like actual friends" He asked me and my brows shot up at what he said.

"You want to be my friend?" I asked not getting why exactly he wants to be my friend. I'm not that social. Sure I have classmates, acquaintances and friends but I like to keep my friend bubble really small. For example now, I only know about half my classmates, a few seniors and some juniors that I find entertaining. That's all. I don't just interact with people unless there's a reason to. I'm not a social bird. Shatoni is. And also because I have a hard time holding on to someone for too long. Let's just say I have trust issues. So most people just ignore me and I do same.

So now you see why its really surprising for someone to just walk up to me and tell me they want to be friends.

"My friend?" I ask again, quizzically, trying to make something of the situation. I had a hunch it was about Adekunle.

"Yes" he simply says.

"Why?" I ask him while furrowing my eyebrows. I quickly look to Adekunle's table and see him just sitting there like he's waiting for something. He definitely sent him.

"Did that asshat send you?" I voiced out my thoughts while using my head to point towards Adekunle's direction.

"First, why do we make friends with anyone? And second, no. I came on my own accord" he said with a smile and amusement dancing in his eyes.

Observation two: he seems nice.

"Hm fair enough" I said. "Sure we can be friends" I say and shrug. He looks nice so why not?

"Sweet! So let's hang out for lunch after school. The Spice Palace maybe?" He said while I just raised a brow at him... Again.

"Oh no no no! I'm not asking you on a date! I was just wondering if we could meet up so we can get to know each other. You could bring your friends too if you'd like. Just so you can feel more comfortable" he rushed out when he realised what he's request sounded like.
