"I think I need a breather" I panted once we finished running laps around the field. I moved away from the running area and immediately collapsed on the soft green grass on the field.
"Lazy ass" Timi muttered and laughed to himself but I still heard him which resulted in me yelling an 'hey!' to him.
No he did not stop laughing.
He laughed the more.
Like out loud.
Like he was bawling.
Like legit tears coming out of his eyes.
I wonder what's so funny. Smh.
"Yunno I just finished running ten laps and all you can do is laugh? I mean, where's the encouragement?!" I exclaimed. I haven't done any running in like two months, so my body is just getting used to it and this goat is busy laughing at my predicament.
"Okay sorry you did well" He said, still smiling while I just rolled my eyes. Dork.
"You need anything?" He asked and towered over me, blocking the sun from burning my beautiful skin. What am I even saying? It'll probably be looking like roasted chicken after those ten laps.
"No" I pouted and folded my arms. This only made him grin more.
"You sure?" He asked like he knew I was gonna break.
Well he was right.
"Fiiiiiine! Just get me bottled water and when you get back, go back to this your position. Merci" I said sassily but at the end of the day pouted to give it this overall effect yunno? Hehe.
Timi just rolled his eyes and muttered a 'I don't know why I bothered asking sef' which I heard of course and only made me crack my million dollar smile at him.
"I'll be right back" he said grudgingly and went over to the coolers.
"Thanks boo!" I shouted after him but I only saw him shake his head at me without turning back.
He's such a darling.
"Boo?" Shatoni asked, laughing and coming to sit down beside me, while I just shrugged and closed my eyes, waiting for my water. Shatoni had already done her laps and was just casually sipping her water beside me.
Early this morning, Shatoni and I faced time each other and we both agreed on bringing our sports wear cus we knew that today would be club day. We've been here for more than two years... We know the drill. Surprisingly though, a lot of people brought theirs. Well just like 75% of them.
Then Senior Dotun decided to give those who brought their wears laps and the other ones in uniforms, sports like basketball and volleyball. Yes our sport arena is that big. The juniors were given orientation. Basically, they made up most of the 25% even though some were 'seniors'. Timileyin didn't bring his sports wear so he played basketball with the SS3s.
"Your water milady" speak of the devil and he shall arrive.
"Merci beaucoup bébé" I smiled at him and collected the water.
"Now back to your post" my smile was gone in a flash. Omo I must go into theatre arts. Why didn't I just join Bami in the contemporary arts club? My love is probably feeling lonely by now.
