Deenas POV
———————
"Kiss me." Sam says - looking up at me.

"What?" I say out of pure confusion and shock.

"I'm sorry. That was stupid." Sam says - looking at the floor.

I let out a nervous sigh. "It's not stupid. I'll kiss you." This all felt like a dream. I feel faint - like I'm about to pass out.

I lean in closer to Sam as she does the same.
My hearts in my throat - I shouldn't be this nervous. But there was a gay girl sitting on my bed after all.
I place my hand on Sams shoulder. I exhale - and our lips touch. We share a short gentle kiss and we pull away.

"Did that help?" I ask Sam - her cheeks are flushed. I can't blame her though, we did just kiss.

"Yeah." Sam says in a breathy quiet voice.
"I should go."

"Wait Sam-."
I try to stop her, but she does have some stuff to figure out. So maybe it is better if I let her go.

Sams POV
——————
"I should go." I blurt out.
I was embarrassed and that kiss was... a lot.

I leave Deenas room. Mr Johnson's on the couch having a beer. He ignores me - which I'm thankful for. I couldn't exactly talk right now.
I head to my place - my Dad still wasn't home.

10:37PM
Hours have passed. My Dad still wasn't home which was unusual. I wasn't really concerned about that though. I was mainly thinking about the kiss. I hope I didn't ruin mine and Deenas friendship, I really care about her.
I spent almost the whole night thinking about Deena.

Im so gay.
It makes sense. I feel different around Deena, she's so beautiful and that kiss was amazing.
Oh god, tomorrow's Saturday. Simon and Kate are gonna want to hang out, and it's going to be awkward.

Third Person POV
———————————
It's the next morning and Deena wakes up to Josh pulling off her blanket. She lets out a gasp as she quickly sits up. "I'm gonna kill you."
"I don't care. It's two o'clock get up!"
Deena throws a smiley face pillow at Josh - he catches it and throws it back.

The brunette gets dressed and heads to the bathroom. On the way she finds empty beer cans all over the coffee table.
"Fucking Dad." She sighs.
She begins to brush her teeth - she hears the front door open. She peeks her head out of the bathroom to see Kate and Simon.

"Hey lady killer." Kate sets a box down at the table.

"No." Deena let's out - seeing the box on the table, knowing exactly what they're doing.

"Dee, we just need to sell to a few kids on the way to the park." Simon explains. The three were gonna hang out at the park this weekend - four if Sam wanted to come.

"Fine. But put a blanket over it when we're in the car. I don't want to get pulled over with that shit." Deena says - annoyed.

"Where's Sam? I thought she'd be with you." Kate asks - fixing her ponytail.

"I just woke up." Deena starts to clean up her Dads mess for the fourth time this week.

"Oh, well I'll go get her." Simon offers, running out the door.

Deena rolls her eyes.

"What's up your ass?" Kate asks - clearly Deena was in a bad mood.

"Nothing. I just didn't get much sleep last night. Sam was here for supper with my Dad."
Deena explains - emphasizing the word Dad.

"Oof, how'd that go?"

"Not so well. My Dad thinks we're dating."

"Aren't you?" Kate asks.

"No doofus." Deena gives Kate a weird look.

"Maybe you should be." Kate says - giving the girl a smile.

"SAM!" Simon opens Sams front door and yells at the top of his lungs. Sam runs downstairs.
"What?"
"Come over to Deenas. We're going to the park."
Sam let's out a sigh. This was about to get awkward.

Deena starts the car with Josh, Simon, and Sam in the back and Kate in the front.

Kate turns around to face Sam. "Did you have fun at Deenas yesterday?"

"Uh, yeah I did. Mr Johnson seems nice."

"When he's sober." Deena butts in.

"So did you have a boyfriend in Martins Ferry?" Kate asks - mainly asking for Deena.

"No not really." Sam shrugs.

"Not really?" Kate asks again.

"I had a boyfriend a few years ago, but he wasn't that great." Sam explains.

"He wasn't that great." Kate repeats after Sam - glancing at Deena.
"Oh stop here, we have a customer."

"You got the money? Simon asks - his arm out the window.

The buyer passes him the money, in return Simon passes him his order.

After a few more 'customers' they reach their destination. The park.

Simon stands on a swing and holds onto the chains. "School sucks."

"I agree." Sam grins.

"Like seriously, we could be working full time, earning our own money. But instead we're in school learning useless knowledge." Simon spits out - nearly face planting on the ground.

"Dude, we need education for better jobs. You can't work at Grab n Bag your whole life." Deena replies.

"True." Kate says - counting their earnings.

Deena lays on the warm grass next to Sam.
"Hi." Sam greets the pretty brunette.
"Hi Sammy." Deena teases.
Sam chuckles - The only ones who call her that are her Dad and Deena.

"Ugh." Simon groans and plops down next to the two.
"Kinda looks like a penis."

"What?" Sam laughs.

"Look, penis." Simon points up at the clouds.

"Oh yeah. It kinda does look like a penis..." Deena gazes at the clouds with her mouth wide open in awe.

"You guys are weird." Kate comes over and looks at the sky. "Wait."

"Told you." Simon looks up at Kate.

Kates pager beeps. She looks down and reads it. "Miranda 219."

Deenas never heard that code before. She has to ask. "219?"

"2 kids, 1 parent. The 9 is a P backwards." Kate explains. "I came up with it." Kate smiles.

"Right, so you have to babysit." Deena says - now understanding.

"Yup. Wanna take me?"

"Yeah let's go." Deena stands up, offering Sam her hand to pull her up.
Sam grabs her hand and stands up.

"Let's go gang!" Simon yells - skipping his way to the car.

What a doofus.
