---

You sat on the couch with your friend Rae, binging a season of Skins UK.

"How do you think the boys are doing?" she asked with a chuckle, taking a sip of her juice.

"They're probably fine. Probably drunk." you laughed. "At least Dream is. I dunno about Corpse."

She chuckled in agreement, popping more popcorn into her mouth.

Your phone began to ring.

"Whose that? Is that them?"

Lover Boy <3

"Yep, it's Corpse." you laugh, slightly shaking your head before answering it.
"Hey, baby what's up?"

"Listen to me carefully okay? I want you to know that I love you. There's a lot of blood baby."

Your heart sank. "Corpse?! What happened. Talk to me, bub, don't hang up and don't fall asleep."

"I don't think I'm gonna make it baby, I love you. I love you so so much and if you never see me again live on for me, doll. Please. If not for yourself do it for me. I know you have a hard time doing that sometimes but do it for me."

You put him on speaker, immediately bursting into tears. "No, you're gonna be fine baby. Don't say that, tell me what happened."

"We were driving and a semi came out of nowhere. I tried to swerve but I just crashed into the wall and then the semi crashed into the side of us bef-"

He started to cough. You could tell there was some sort of fluid in his lungs and mouth.

"Deep breaths baby, don't hyperventilate. It'll only make it worse. Stay calm, Rae is calling 911 right now." you say, nodding at Rae before watching her run to find her phone.

Corpse took some deep breaths, before continuing.

"The semi crashed into the side of us before the windshield broke and the airbags went off. There's glass in my legs, Y/N, I don't know if I can stand up. I might pass out from blood loss."

"Don't! Do not get out of that fucking car until EMS gets there, understood?"
"Alright. But as I was saying... I love you."

Then he broke down. You could hear the tears, the pain, the fear. All of that inside of his sobs.

"I don't wanna die!" he cried.

"You aren't going to die, bub, just keep taking deep breaths. I love you, okay? I believe in you, you're gonna survive. Tell me, is your head hurting?" you say, trying to remain calm.

"Yeah, I smashed it on the steering wheel and I think my nose is broken."

"Alright, do not touch it, I just needed to know. Stay on the phone with me until the ambulance gets there, okay?"

No response.

"Baby?"

"Corpse, c'mon, talk to me, dammit!"

The phone call ended.

"Fuck! Rae, get your shoes, we've gotta go, now." you rush out, throwing on a hoodie and some flip-flops.
"Already on it."

---

"I'm here to see my boyfriend. He probably told you his name was Corpse?" you told the receptionist.

"Sorry, only immediate family can see trauma patients at the moment, honey." she said with clear attitude, as if you were bothering her for coming into the ER at 3 AM.

You stopped a doctor. "I'm here to see my husband. He was in a car accident. About 6 foot, black curly hair, muscular?"

"Oh, right this way honey." She replied, a sad look on her face.

---

You step into the room, Corpse surprisingly conscious.

"Oh, baby..." you sigh, taking a seat next to his bed.

"Hi."

"How are you feeling, bub?"
"Well, could be better." he laughed sarcastically, making you giggle.
"I'm so sorry, love. Is Dream... is he..." you start, before he simply shakes his head.
"Don't. Please... not right now."

You simply nod.
"Alright. Sorry."

"It's alright baby. I get you're worried."

"You know, that phone call had me worried sick. I vomited once I got to the car from pure nervousness." you explained.

"I'm just so glad you're okay. C-could I look?" you ask, lightly grabbing his hospital gown and asking for consent to look at his wounds and injuries.

He nods, in too much pain to reject.
You unbutton the gown, seeing a large purple and green bruise going from one shoulder, all the way down to his hip, and then across his waist.

"Looks like you were wearing your seatbelt. Good. Those airbags wouldn't have saved you on their own." You say, lightly grazing your fingers over the purple mark.

Corpse sighed, letting out a small sound of pain. "I'm sorry for worrying you."

"Don't apologize." you whisper, ruffling his curls as you kiss his nose. "It's alright."

He looked up at you, his eyes soft, full of thought. "You know, I never thought I'd see this beautiful face again." he chuckled, rolling his thumb over your cheek.

"I never thought i'd see you again either, baby. At least not outside of a casket..."

Corpse took a deep breath, his eyes filling with tears. "I thought I was gonna die." he sobs out, a few tears slipping out of his eyes as his voice broke.
You pull him into a hug, lightly rubbing his back and being careful not to bump the fresh cuts or bruises.

"I know, baby. But you didn't... you're still here. You're right here baby and you're not going anywhere for hopefully a long, long time. It's okay." you whisper, letting him sob into your shoulder.

"I love you."

"I love you, too. It's okay." you say. "I'm not going anywhere, you're not going anywhere. We're fine baby. You're going to be okay."

Corpse nodded, gaining composure as he kissed your cheek.

"Are you hungry?" you ask.

He slightly shrugged. "A little."
"Think you could eat a little bit? For me?"

He nods.

"Alright. I'll be right back. Hang in there, baby."

He chuckles softly, gently shaking his head. "I'll try my best."
