Chapter Two: Meeting the Crew

As Luci and Chopper walked in, the rest of the crew, who were sitting at the table, turned their heads to the door to see her. Luci got nervous with so many eyes looking right at her. She looked down as she tried to speak. "He..hello there. I am Luci. I apologize for intruding on you all today. It was my fault that my dinghy hit your ship." Nami was the first to speak. "It is not your fault. Luckily, Brook found you and let the others know of your presence." Luci looked around to see who she was referring to as Brook. She then saw the tall skeleton in the back stand up and go up to her. Luci backed away terrified. "An actual skeleton? It's....alive?! First a talking reindeer and now a living skeleton. This crew is strange. No offense." Brook stops in front of her and bows. "A pleasure to help you, my dear. I am glad to have noticed you and saved you." Luci looks up at him and tries to meet his eyes, but sees he has only eye sockets. "I am sure you had worry in your eyes when we met, that is if you had any eyes." She laughs softly. Brook belts out, "Yohohoho! You got quite the humor there." The others were watching in shock as the pair laughed together.

"Alright everyone, lunch is ready. I made plenty for our lovely guests so she can have as much as she likes." Sanji fills the table with an abundance of food. Luffy was excited and started to eat right away. Brook and Chopper lead Luci to the table. Luci sat next to Brook and grabbed as much food as she could place on her plate and ate with everyone. She felt like she was in heaven with the food she was eating. Sanji stood by and saw how Luci was enjoying herself. He smiled seeing that he did a splendid job, as usual. Luffy looks towards Luci across from him and asks her only one question, "Where are you from?"

Luci stopped eating and suddenly, like a lightswitch, she had the look of fear on her face and looked down. Voices go through her head like echoes. "You must do this Luci! It is your destiny! Never forget who you are!" Luci then gets a panic attack feeling terrified. The crew watched in shock not knowing what to do. Nami and Robin quickly go to her side. "It's okay, Luci. It's alright. We are here for you." Robin says calmly and quietly. Nami tells the guys to give them some space. Brook, Zoro, and Usopp who were by her backed away. Robin has Luci do some breathing exercises to slow down her breathing.

After just a few minutes, the girls helped Luci feel better. Robin looked at her with great concern. "Luci, what caused the panic attack? Is your home that bad?" Luci could not answer that question truthfully. It would open Pandora's box. Luci looked at her then the others. She knew she had no choice but to speak the truth. "If I tell you, it will lead to discovering who I am. You might not like it." Zoro then sat across from her turning the chair backwards to lean his arms on it "Try us" He said.

Luci then takes a deep breath and looks around. "Alright. My name is Luci Fer. I was born on an island called Azara, it is not on many maps. That's the way it's supposed to be. The person in charge of the island wanted to make sure no map had the island on it so no outsider could come in and influence us." Nami speaks up. "That explains why when I looked at the map, I could not find it. The way you said 'outsider' is like this island is a cult." Luci nods. "It is. I was born in it. My parents tragically died on my 10th birthday. The man in charge took me in and treated me like his own daughter."

The crew was hooked onto her story. Luffy was anticipated. "What happened next Luci?" He asked. Luci looks at them. "On my 10th birthday, my father, the leader, gave me a gift. He gave me a devil fruit and told me to eat it. I hesitated but he said it is good for all of us. So I did eat it because I believed him. What he told me after was that it was the Demon-Demon fruit. Basically I have the power of a demon. I have incredible strength, can cause hallucinations, understand all languages, use telekinesis and control others. I can spark fires and I can also appear on a pentagram if someone draws one and summons me."

Luffy was fascinated. Stars literally replace his eyes. "That sounds soooo cool!! You have to show me that sometime!" Usopp looks at him with fear. "That is not what we want! The point is that her 'father' gave her a fruit years ago for a whole other reason" Luci waited till Usopp finished talking and continued. "So now jump forward 10 years later where I had the courage to run away because now something sinister is going on and I have no confidence to stand up to him or his comrades aka my 'brothers'. He preferred everyone to be his sons and daughters while we are supposed to treat each other like siblings which is disgusting."

Zoro stands up and looks directly at her. Luci and everyone look up at him. "Luci Fer, sounds more like Lucifer to me. Did they name you that on purpose?" Luci stands up. "The priest gave me that name. He was there for my birth and convinced my parents to name me that. They followed his word. His word is law on my island. Now you know who I am, where I am from, and now my fruit power."

Luffy stretches out his hand for her to shake. Luci freaks out. "You have one too?" He nods, smiling. "So do Robin, Chopper, and Brook." He explains their devil fruit powers as each demonstrates it or talks about it. Luci was fascinated with Brooks's story the most. "Brook I am so sorry that had to happen. I hope one day you teach me Binks Sake." Brook gives her a gentleman bow. "My lady, I would be honored to teach you." Nami walks up to everyone. "So I have a plan, with Luci's help, we go over to her island. We meet up with the priest and stop him from what he is plotting. We can destroy him and his comrades. I have a bad feeling he will be looking for her and bring her back. What do you think, captain?" She looks at Luffy. Luffy chuckles and stands up on his chair. "It is settled! We are going to Luci's island! And you Luci..." He points to her. "You will join my crew."
