Walking down the empty streets while sun is going to sleep and the wind blowing through my hair and lightly caressing my face, I wandered aimlessly, hoping I would get to the end of something. Feeling empty these was now a major problem. A feeling which I wasn't able to brush off but also, I wasn't able to understand what it was.
I soon felt someone yank me to the footpath as a speeding car passed by.
"Be careful!", Jeongin chuckled as he hugged me from behind. I smiled and laughed.
Yang Jeongin and I were dating for like 3 years now. We first met at the annual fair, held during the end of autumn as we all welcome winter. Jealous as he always is, his frown face used to play when I used to talk to his friends or if I laughed with a few of my guy friends. We chased each other down the empty streets when the world slept and enjoyed ourselves in the rain, laughing and giggling and randomly sharing a moment of rapid tango.
Coming back to the present, he offered me to walk back home and of course I agreed. But my heart didn't beat as fast as it used to, my cheeks didn't heat up while glancing at him, my mind didn't make scenarios like before. It almost felt like two good friends walking side by side....
Almost like..... I don't have any feelings for him like before.....
"Thanks", I said, smiling at him, reaching and sticking the key into the hole.
"No problem", he said while nodding. His voice was somewhat loose and emotionless. We stood on my porch for a minute just looking at each other, each of us trying to say something to cut of the awkward silence.
"Well, see you on Monday then I guess", he shyly smiled and turned around to leave. I watched him go until he disappeared behind the turning building.
I entered my house head filled with thoughts. Without even changing , I plopped down on the bed, thinking about my interaction with Jeongin.
It felt unusual. The same butterfly feelings, the same heart racing whenever I saw him, all gone now.
Seeming that I might be stressed on a Friday night, I decided to text Jungkook, even though knowing that boy wouldn't respond.
