Chapter 28

Clara felt her feet land on the rocky terrain, and her size increased to her normal size. The helmet retracted from her head and her time travel suit "dissolved" to show her uniform underneath. She looked around the location: it was dark, rocky, bland. Puddles of water were all around her, and in the distance she could hear squealing from some kind of animal. So this is Morag? Thought it would be cooler looking. On the sides of her, four other figures had grown to her size, revealing her "teammates". On her right was Clint and Nat, and on the left was Rhodey and Nebula.

"Alright, guys back up." Clint waved his hands, telling them to back up. He took a small Bentar out of his pocket and placed it on the ground. Then, he took out this small metal disc. "If I do this right..." he tossed the disc right on top of the mini Bentar, and in seconds, it grew to its actual size. "Haha, there we go. Alright Nat, our ride is up." Nat, who had just kicked away what looked like a mix of a naked rat and a mini kangaroo, walked over to the Bentar.

"Alright, we are on a right schedule." Nat smiled as she clapped her hands. Rhodey was lowering the hatch on the Bentar.

"It's going as fast as it can!" Rhodey joked. When it reached the floor, he backed away, over towards Nebula, who was examining the planet, and to Clara, who was staring up at the sky.

"You guys take care of yourselves." Nat's voice snapped Clara's attention back on her and Clint, and she realized they were headed off to Vormir. Clara watched as Rhodey and Nat hugged.

"You get that stone and come right back. You guys watch each other's sixes, and no messing around." Rhodey have Clint a firm pay on the shoulder, and Clara made her way over to say her goodbye.

"Are you sure you guys don't need me to come with you? I mean, it's not like we have much to do here." Nat smiled and pulled Clara into a hug.

"Clint and I will be fine. They need you here more in case you run into..."

"Ronan's army." Nebula, who was putting in the directions to Vormir, finished Nat's sentence.

"Yeah, them. I'm sure you'll be needed a lot more here than where we are going." Clint nodded and put his hand on Clara's shoulder.

"Don't worry about us kid," he gave Nat a little side eye, and Nat nudged him a bit. "We are highly trained professionals." Clara smiled and nodded, accepting the fact they don't need him.

"Alright then. Be safe. See you guys soon." Clara felt herself back away, but both Clint and Nat stopped close enough.

"Oh, Clara. We both just wanted to say, welcome to The Avengers."

"How do you know?"

"Tony enjoys making suits. Especially for teammates. Anyways, after this...we'll after this we looked forward to working with you more, that is if you stay with us. But, you are gonna be living a life you never even imagined."

"I'm other words," Clint interrupted. "It's gonna be one hell of a ride." Clara laughed.

"Trust me," she told them. "I think I got a pretty good idea of what it's gonna be like."

"Okay, coordinates are in. You guys are free to go." Nebula stepped away from the Bentar and walked over to a rock to lean against it. Nat and Clint waved goodbye to each of us one last time.

"See you soon!" Clara yelled to them just before they disappeared behind the hatch. A few moments later, the engines turned on, and they ship lifted off the ground and went up into the sky. Clara watched until she could no longer see them.
