Chapter 8 | trust issues

The uncle stroke Harry's hair with his hand while smiling at him : "let's go for the breakfast" Harry nodded quietly, he wasn't used to be pampered like this as a child but he felt warm and happy.

They got dressed and headed to the car to go to a restaurant. They went to McDonald's. Harry ordered pan cakes and the uncle as well. While eating the uncle asked : "do you like the cinema?" Harry looked confused, he doesn't quite know what's going on there. He decided to lie maybe if he said the truth his uncle would thought that he is faking it to get family affection.

He replied : "yeah! It's brilliant" , his uncle smiled at him and continued eating then told him: "would you like to go to the cinema tonight?" Harry answered : "Y-yes!" he prayed for not being exposed and continued to eat as well.

After the breakfast, the uncle took Harry to clothes shopping. Harry was ok with it he had to go with the Dursley's without making any noise or order anything. They entered a store, he found a beautiful pair of shoes. His shoes was torn and dirty.

He was starring at the shoes, then remembered the Dursley's words "you don't deserve to wear new stuff, you should be grateful we gave you Dudley's".he stopped looking at it but his uncle noticed everything, he knew Harry liked the shoes. So he took Harry's hand and told him: "do you like those?" pointing at the pair of shoes.

Harry starred at him and didn't say anything. His uncle understood and ordered the pair of shoes for Harry to try them on not knowing Harry's size he looked at Harry's foot it seems like it's something between size 39-40 so he ordered those sizes.

After a couple of minutes the pairs arrived and Harry tried both of them but the 40 pairs were better. He kept looking at his feet in the mirror, it looked very good no one ever went with him for a shopping. He can't believe he would get new shoes.

His uncle looked at him with amusement, he made his nephew happy. But Harry felt that his uncle would humiliate him for those pair of shoes, his expressions darkened cause he already loved the pair of shoes but he will hate them if they were a reason for hurting his pride.

He went back to his uncle and said : "um.. I think mine are better, thanks" his uncle was shocked : "sorry Harry but those are torn and dirty and way too big for you..." Harry said nothing but left the new shoes and wore his old ones and sat down next to his uncle.

After they got out of the store the uncle looked at Harry and told him: "why you didn't take them?" Harry said : "i don't have money right now" his uncle replied : "money?! You don't need any money!! I'm with you!!" then Harry couldn't control himself : "do you think i am stupid?!? You want to buy me some new stuff and then humiliate me, right?!?".

His uncle looked at him with wide eyes and expression of shock. Harry continued: "that's the truth then!! Later you will abuse me and say " i spent my money on you ungrateful freak!".

His uncle still shocked and froze up then he took Harry's hand gently back to the car as they sat he told him : "why would i do that to you?? ... I don't hate you Harry, you are my nephew. I couldn't ever do that to you"
