Thirteen

Clara sat waiting for Bella and Alexis. She felt Edward kissing her neck causing her to look at him smiling. "You know that this shouldn't be happening." She tells him. "I just wanted us to be together as a family and all this had to happen."

"I know, baby, but think of it like this. Alexis can prove to the rest of us if Bella is worth protecting." Edward tells her as he kissed her cheek. "I know if you were human, you would have been worth saving."

Clara looked at him and kissed him. "Please be careful."

"As long as your safe." He tells her.

Clara nodded as she saw Alexis and Bella. She sighed as she got in the car with her sister and brother in law. "Clara..."

"Don't." Was all she said as she drove off.

Bella watched Clara sit away from the others looking outside. Jasper felt pain and knew that Clara and Edward being apart was causing her to be in pain. "Clara."

"Jasper, I'm fine."

"No, you're not. The distance is bothering you and you don't look to well."

Clara rolled her eyes as she looked back out the window. Bella walked over to her and sighed. "I'm sorry for what is happening and if I could turn back time, I will." She tells her. "I hope this is over soon so you can get back to Edward."

"You're not that bad of a human." She said as she looked at Bella. "I've never left Edward's side in a very long time and the pain of being apart hurts...."

Bella noticed Clara started having a vision. Jasper appeared beside her and handed her the sketch book. Alice walked over and looked at the sketch. "He changed course."

Clara hasn't said a word. "He caught on. Rosalie had the jacket on long enough for her scent to appear." She said. "Alexis' plan fell and he is going to a place filled with mirrors."

"The ballet studio?" Bella asked as they looked at her. "My mom signed me up for ballet."

Clara wanted to make a comment, but her phone started ringing causing her to go answer it. "Hello?'

"Clara, baby, I'm on my way to you."

"Edward, I can't stand this pain." She tells him. "It's like when we first met, but this time it's more painful than the last time."

"Baby, I know. I promise that after this is all over with. We will go somewhere. Just us."

Clara smiled as she couldn't wait for that. "I love you."

"I love you."

Clara hung the phone up and sat down as she was now thinking about where Edward was going to take her. She heard Alice and knew they were going to leave, but Clara she decided to stay behind with Bella. Bella was on the phone with her mom in the bathroom as Clara was sitting in the room thinking about her vision. "Clara, James has my mom."

"Okay, we have to trick my sister and her mate."

"Okay."

Clara took Bella to the ballet studio where James was waiting. She went and hid after the two discussed their plans. Clara climbed up to the roof and found a way in. She had to wait for the signal and then she would jump in. As soon as Bella got thrown against the mirrors, Clara jumped to action. "Hello."

James turned and smirked. "Seems like you came prepared."

Clara attacked him. Bella watched as the two fought till she saw red hair. She smiled as she saw Alexis helping Clara. Edward arrived and saw his mate getting thrown against the wall. "Clara." He said as he went down to her and grabbed her hand. "Baby."

Clara groaned as she looked at him and smiled. "Let's kill that bastard."

"Deal."

The two ran towards James just to stop and watch as he bit Bella. Clara was the first one to attack him then Edward. The two saw Alice and Jasper causing them to smile. They were able to kill James and Alexis may have learnt control around Bella.

After they killed James, Clara walked out just to be pushed up against the wall of the hospital. "Do you have any idea how worried I was?" Edward asked.

"Yes, but I..."

"Don't ever do that again." He tells her. "I thought I lost you tonight."

Clara kissed Edward causing him to kiss her back. She pulled away and cupped Edward's cheek. "You didn't lose me." She tells him. "Bella needed to be protected and I was the only one around." Edward nodded. "Now, where are we going for that get away you promised."

Edward smiled as she really wanted to go. He held her tight as they disappeared from the hospital without being seen.
