Concern and Frustration

I went inside the police station but something was eating me from inside...how was everything connected and how my number fit in all this. However I pushed my thoughts aside and went for some genuine answers to some questions, the interrogation took about 1 hour. I was shocked at the revelation. It turns out that, the night of the incident, Ted Madruga was returning home after his work, when he saw a man stabbing a girl, and when the man saw that someone has witnessed him committing the crime, he threatened Ted to harm his daughter and wife and forced him to run his car over the dead body to make it look like accident and later dispose the body somewhere inside the forest. He even promised a good amount of money in return, when he would take the blame upon himself to secure the future of her child. However later it turns out that Ted wasn't the only one who happens to witness the murder, but two little girls aged around 8-10 also witnessed the heinous crime. One of them which I assumed as Hannah and the other one may be the other child about whom we heard in the recording between Hannah and her therapist. Most probably Hannah wanted to know about the truth behind the dark night, so she wanted to meet him up in the prison.

Shockingly I was walking out of the police station, I saw someone running towards me. The person was none other than my brother, Aaron. He hugged me tightly.

Aaron: Hey Layana are you okay?

He asked me while inspecting my whole body.

Layana : I'm fine... What's the matter big brother?

Aaron: I thought they............. Never mind

Layana: Stop being a jerk and complete your sentence..

Aaron: Ok listen to this call recording ...

Stranger : Don't let your sister roam in the forest alone ...She has got a nice body.. If you know what I mean.

Aaron : WHAT THE HECK IS THIS AND WHO THE HELL ARE YOU

Stranger: Calm down... I'm just your well wisher... Don't worry we haven't touched her yet,  she's lucky she ran away before we led our hands at her..
A friendly advise tell her to stay away from missing girl's case.... Don't you remember what happened to your dad when he let his hand in Hanson's murder case.... Have a good day big brother

Layana : Yeah when I stepped in Duskwood forest. Two men confronted me and before I can act they snatched away the gun and tried to intoxicate me but I kicked them and ran away ..

Phil : That's when you ran into me... Right?

Layana : Yeah..

Aaron : Why didn't you tell me earlier... But why you are here in the first place when I clearly told you to stay out of all of these..

Layana: Stay out of all these?  Like seriously

I took  a long breath

Layana : You handed me a gun when I was barely five years old, sent me to military school.. Taught me firing.. And telling me to stay out of all these..  I would have stayed out of these if you haven't done any of these..

Aaron : I have to do all of these for your own protection got dammed.  The reason behind our parents death still haunt us.. Don't you remember.

Layana : YEAH YEAH I REMEMBER

Aaron : Then why are you investigating this case after so much threats???

He fell on his knees covering his face.

Layana : I got a damn call from chief of FBI. Someone informed him that I am Ginny Gilbert who is accused of kidnapping and even murder. They saw that damn video in which Lilly accused Ginny I mean she accused me. I have been given an ultimatum of a week. If I will not be able to prove my innocence and state that I have no involvement in the case and if I will not be able to prove then they will hand me my resignation letter. I have no other choice than to come to investigate the case on my own.

Aaron: You should have called than jumping here.

I was pissed at his behaviour, always thinking I'm a child. I know I'm his only family after our parents death but I'm not a child anymore. I can take decisions and handle my problems by my own. I turned to Lilly..

Layana : You will pay for this Miss Lilly Donfort.

The reputation, the respect that I have earned in all this years by putting my in danger seems to be tarnished. I wasn't able to decide all I wanted to run away. I turned to my car and drove away all I can hear the distinct voices calling my name to stop.
