Jake's POV

Not being properly and sympathetically heard can be distressing and frustrating.

Being misunderstood and misconstrued can make one feel rejected and ignored. It is a tough burden to bear.

Misunderstandings in a friendship can cause arguments and resentment. Improper or lack of communication is one of the main reasons for it. It can truly feel isolating to know you are not being perceived the way you intended to and having your words used against you. 

And that's what I did I misunderstood her.... ......

And here I'm standing at the door of Phil's apartment to apologise to her for accusing her that she's here to handover me to the government..

Besides She trusts me.. What can go wrong for me... Right?

I rang the doorbell and I stood there for nearly five minutes.. May be they are busy
..the idea of being her busy with the owner of the house makes me to puke at his doorstep...

The very unwelcoming face welcomed me... Yes it was Phil who opened the door and motioned me to come in...

I can tell from her shocked expressions that she wasn't happy to see me here...

Sad???
Nope

Layana : "What brought you here?"
She hissed
Anger dripping from her voice

Jake:" I...I.... I... To apologise.. "

She stood up to face me... I was mesmerised by her but then again her icy voice brought me back to reality..

Layana : " Apologise for what huh?? For talking with me.. Or for asking me for help... Oh wait I'm the keyyy how can you open the lock without me?  So you thought if you'll not show up I might leave you all hanging!!!

She took a step towards me and unknowingly I took a step back till my back touching the wall
..she's an agent..and me a criminal.. She can shoot me if she wants
.isn't it?

Jake: " Listen Gin... I mean Layana.. I'm really sorry
..and I came to apologise because I  really care for you... If I could give you one thing in life, I would give you the ability to see yourself through my eyes, only then would you realize how much I care about you..."

Layana: "Jake if you really cared you shouldn't have said me all that... "

Her voice became low mere a whisper.. Tears started beaming in her eyes but she battled her eyelashes to stop tears from falling...

I raised my hand to touch her face... As I was about to cup her face... Phil came between us..

Phil: "You have hurt her enough Jakey boy... Visiting hours has expired... See you never."..
Only if anyone can predict my anger towards Phil..
With that Layana went inside a room... Probably hers...

I felt a deep pain in my chest and went outside brokenhearted...

How often, you wonder, has the direction of your life been shaped by such misunderstandings? How many opportunities have you been denied--or, for that matter, awarded--because someone failed to see you properly? How many friends have you lost, how many have you gained, because they glimpsed some element of your personality that shone through for only an instant, and in circumstances you could never reproduce? An illusion of water

I was about to reach the motel when I remembered Lily told me to give her a letter or else she has seen enough crime shows...

I went back to that persons apartment.. The door wasn't locked... I opened to see something that made me think it was better if Lily killed me....
