The fight over Roger's song continued for hours. Suddenly Roger jumped up and ran to a cupboard. He went inside and locked it. "Roger what the bloody hell are you doing there?", Jane asked. "I'll only come out when my song is on the B side of Bohemian Rhapsody.", Roger said. Jane looked at Brian and John who looked completely shocked. "He can't be serious, can he?", Brian whispered. "I'm deadly serious!", Roger said who heard Brian. Jane stood up and walked over to the cupboard.
"Roger come on that's extremely childish", she said and knocked at the door. "Come out", she said. "Not until it's on the B side!", he said again. "That's it, I'll get Fred", John said and stood up. Freddie then came into the room. "What the hell happened?", he asked. "It's Roger. That idiot locked himself in the cupboard and will only come out when you put I'm in love with my car on the B side of Bohemian Rhapsody.", Brian explained.
Freddie looked at them in disbelief. "That did not happen", he said. "Oh yes it did", Jane said and tried to open the door. "Ey!" Roger yelled. "See?", she said. Freddie had to hold back a laugh. "Wow Roger wow. I mean I would've expected you to freak out, which you did but this?!", Freddie said and laughed. "You're such a child"
Brian then got mad. "Roger get out of there!! Now!! You're a grown man for fuck sake!!!", he yelled. "Again. Like I said. Not until my song gets on the B side", Roger said. "But hurry it's getting stuffy"
"Then get the fuck out!", John said and face palmed himself. "Stop guys we can't handle it like that", Jane said quietly. "Roggie honey. Of course we'll put the song on the album", Jane said and looked at the guys. "Or?", she said and raised a brow. They all shook their heads. "Oh come on! It's not that bad. It's quite catchy actually.", Jane tried to convince them, whispering. Freddie rolled his eyes as far as he could but nodded.
"You sure?", Roger asked. "Yes. GOD YES", Brian yelled. Roger then came out of the cupboard, smiling. "See! It's wasn't that hard now, was it?", he said proudly. "One thing still Roger. If the album fails, I blame you!", Freddie said. Roger shrugged and went out of the room. Jane shook her head and went out behind him.
"Sorry guys", she said. "Not your fault, love", Brian meant.
"Roger was that really necessary?", Jane said slightly annoyed. "You see how it worked. And that song really means a lot to me", he said. Jane's features softened. "If it's really that important I'm glad it worked", she said and kissed his cheek. Roger smiled softly. "I'm still sad though that they really seem to hate this song", he said and looked down. "You like it, do you?", he asked Jane. She lifted his head.
"Actually yes I do, if I'm being honest! It's a classical Rock'n'Roll. Catchy, great guitar and even the lyrics are cool. I mean they don't make any sense but maybe that's the great thing about it", she said. Roger's eyes lightened and his features softened. He smiled widely. Jane had never seen him smiling like that. He cupped her cheeks with his hands and kissed her very passionately.
They didn't notice that Freddie and John were watching them form afar. "I know we're still kinda mad at Rog but I love to see how happy he is around Jane. Look at the passion. If that's not love then I don't know.", Freddie told his friend. "And we always thought he would never settle. Guess we were wrong", John shrugged. Freddie nodded.
The next day the band decided to spent the day at the pool to have a little free time before they'd finally start to record the album. The boys were already sitting at the pool and chatting, when Jane came around the corner. Roger was sitting on the edge of the springboard, right above the water. He was still dry so it was the perfect opportunity for Jane to play a trick on him.
She sneaked behind him. Brian and Freddie already saw her but she gestured them to stay quiet so they did. Trying desperately to hold back their smiles. When Jane was close enough, she reached out her arms and pushed him right into the cold water. He yelled in shock before he disappeared into the cold blue. The guys and Jane bursted out laughing and Roger looked at them in anger but then laughed too.
"Oh so you think you can just do something like this and get away with it?", he said when he stepped out of the pool. "If that's so, I must tell you that you were terribly wrong", Roger said and picked Jane up. "Rog no no no what are you doing?", Jane asked, trying to free herself from him. Roger just laughed and so did the others. He took off and jumped right into the water still with Jane in his arms. "You little dickhead!", Jane said playfully.
"Payback", Roger just said and let go of her. The others were still laughing at them. "Oh so you guys want to come in too?", Jane play-frightened them. "Don't have to tell me twice", John said and jumped right in. A big splash was heard across the pool and Brian came in just a second after John. "Wait for me!", Freddie yelled and jumped in right behind them.
"Oh you ladies cut a fine figure in the water", Freddie said sarcastically. "Especially you, blondie", he said and pointed at Roger. "Blondie? So that's what you'll be calling me now?". Roger asked, trying to tickle Jane. "Yes I think it fits perfectly well", Freddie said and smiled at him proudly. Roger rolled his eyes laughing.
When they had spent enough time in the pool, they were all laying on the loungers by the pool. They were enjoying the sun until Freddie started to sing a very sweet melody which he soon added lyrics to. (Teo Torriate my loves). "Wow Freddie that's absolutely beautiful!", Jane marvelled. "It is? Well thank you darling!".
"No really Freddie that's awesome! We should use it on the album!", Brian meant. "No!", Freddie immediately said. "Why?", they all asked at the same time. "Because I think it's not ready yet. Something's still missing. A deeper meaning, you know?", Freddie replied.
It was quiet for a few minutes, until John started to speak: "I think it absolutely represents our friendship. The melody just as much as the lyrics. I mean 'let us cling together as the years go by'? I think that's absolutely what I'd say to all of you because I am absolutely sure and I wholeheartedly believe that this right here is a life long friendship. What am I even saying, it's family!"
They all looked stunned. "John that was wonderful", Freddie said and smiled at his friend. He softly wiped away some tears that had started to appear in his eyes. Jane did the same. This really got her more than she thought it would. "That's it! That's the deeper meaning that I've been looking for. I dedicate this song to you my loves.", Freddie said. "But i think this song won't fit the vibe of our album. What if we keep it in mind to put it on our next album?", Freddie suggested. "Sounds good to me", Roger said.
"I also have an idea", Brian said and sat up. "Go on", Jane said. "We'll sing that song on the next marriage that involves one of us. Of course not in front of everyone but just for us five. What do you think of that?", Brian asked. "That's a lovely idea!", Jane said. the others agreed as well.
