"Did he just say that it was complicated?" Emmett asks, as we walk down the New York streets.

I nod and look at him, "Yes, it seems to be his phrase. Well, that and, 'It's a long story.'" I joke with a little seriousness behind it. I shake my head and the turn and walk backwards in front of the brown haired blue eyed boy, "So, where are we going?" I weave through the people while watching Emmett's face.

"Its a surprise." He turns his head to the side and raises his eyebrows, "How are you doing that?" He asks, inquisitivly.

I laugh and reply, "I've lived almost everywhere in the world, my parents had jobs that required moving to different places. In those places, places like this, I often walked backwards to, well, challenge myself." I turn and fall into step with Emmett, "You see that girl in the blue coat a few feet ahead?" I ask, looking at the her, she's tall, with brown hair and a has a blue beanie on.

"Yes," he replies, looking at me.

"She just came from her boyfriend's place. From the looks of it, they had a massive fight." I say, tucking my hair behind my ear.

"How can you tell?" He asks, looking at the girl.

I look her up and down before replying, "Look at the way she's holding her hands. They are in her coat pockets; which, in in my years of experience, has been a telltale sign that a girl and a boy has had a fight. Always was true with me, at least." I shrug and look at Emmett.

"Always true? Might I ask how many boyfriend's you've had?" He asks, pulling us into an alleyway.

"I, uhm," I start to stutter, thinking of ways to get myself out of this. "I've had a... few."

"A few?" He asks, incredulously.

I fake a laugh and tuck my hair behind my ear, "It's.... A long story?" I offer, shrugging.

"What's going on here? You and that man often say that it's a long story or its complicated. I need to know what's going on here, because it seems as though you both are lying." He argues, crossing his arms.

Out of the corner of my eye I see movement, not sure of what's going on, "Emmett, we need to go, now."

"No, we need to talk about this."

"Emmett, you have to listen to me. We need to go." I try to reason with him. "Please, we'll talk about it once we are in a safe place; but, not here. I don't feel safe here."

"How right you are, miss." A stranger comes out from the shadows. He's tall, and has what looks like brown hair and brown eyes. Lanky is a good way to describe him.

Crap. Who could I call? I think, looking between Emmett and the stranger. Jo! Duh, good job, Cox. I pull out my phone and dial Henry's number, knowing that the stranger will take the phone.

"Give me your phone." He takes the phone and stares at me. "What are you doing?"

I act innocent and reply, "I don't know what you are talking about."

"Elizabeth?"
