"You're not dressing like a slut so eliminate that idea," she said, wagging her finger in my face.
"I didn't want to," I giggled. "I want to be iconic, like someone everyone knows."
"Hmm." She took a step back, examining my body. "You could be a superhero or, hear me out," she picked up a school shirt. "Either Rory Gilmore, Blair Waldorf, or Serena Vander-woodson."
"Who's going to be my Lorilie to my Rory?"
"Tilly..." she drifted off. "Or me," she smiled. "But no," she looked up quizzically. "Maybe a GG icon is the best."
I smiled. "Okay. I'll be Blair," I shrugged. "I can straighten my hair and-"
"Well I was thinking a wig but if you want-"
"But if I play Serena, could I die it?"
"No," she shook her head. "Of course not."
"Then I'll be Blair."

"These flyers look top tier," Tilly complemented.
"Yeah. My mom did them."
"Your mom rich or something? These are-" The bell rang interrupting her. "Shanks," was her way of cursing. "I'll give out as many flyers as I can. See you."
Tilly has never actually been to my house. Usually we hang out in school or do video calls. She's never actually met my parents and I've never actually met hers.
When I got to my class, I sat in my normal seat awaiting my science partner for the month.
"Hey," I dryly greeted. "You um, wanna go to my birthday party tonight? It's a costume party and it's free," I whispered to him. We didn't talk much, he always seemed so mean.
He damn near snatched the flyer from under my fingers. "This your house?"
"Yeah," I dryly responded.
"No way," he said as he examined the flyer. "Can I invite my friends?" He squinted his eyes at me.
"Tell everyone you know," I smiled.
He nodded his head with a smirk.
By next period, there was chatter through the halls. Everyone bad been talking about the freshman who's throwing a birthday-costume party.
As I walked to my locker after the previous period, I saw the girl. She'd been standing just two lockers away from mine. Do I have the courage to go and invite her?
I walked up to her, or well her back. But while I did I heard everything.
"Parties aren't my thing," she said as she giggled with her friends. "They are usually filled with pre-alcholics and horny desperate teens. Plus a freshman is throwing it. It'll probably be a kids setting anyways," she laughed.
As she backed up to turn around, she bumped right into me.
"Oh, I'm sorry," she said she picked my phone up.
"It's-it's fine," I smiled. Then a hint of courage rumbled in my belly. "And actually it isn't going to be like a kids party." I reached in my pocket and took out a folded up flyer. "See," I showed it to her. "Big mansion and no restrictions for your costume." I swallowed, swallowed hard.
"Yeah but who's the freshman throwing it?" A boy asked from behind her.
"Uh, uhm," I swallowed hard again. Boy did they look big, tall too. "Me," I said quietly. "But I don't smoke, drink, nor am I desperate for sex."
"You heard that?" Girl asked. I aggressively nodded my head. She probably thought something was wrong with me. "Oh well, I'm sorry," she cleared her throat. "Sure than, I'll come," she smiled.
"Okay," I smiled back. "See later?"
"Yeah," her and the boy walked away.
Her voice was faint, raspy even but it was attractive nonetheless. She smelt great, as said before, and she was tall. Taller than me.
"Did I just see you talking to Michelle Wright and Micheal Walker?" Tilly asked in excitement.
Michelle...
That was her name.

"Nobody shows up to a party on time," Scarlett, annoyed. "Your lucky if they even show at all though. Your just a freshman who dresses like lesbian everyday. And not the cute ones. The boring, no style having one's. You should be lucky they even took the flyers."
I rolled my eyes and walked out of Scarletts room. Don't even know why I went in anways. I honestly just wanted to know if she was gonna dress up but of course she had to act like I wasn't her blood.
....
A good hour past and no one had showed up.
"Alright," I sighed. "Let's just-"
Ding dong.
My mother ran to the door and when she opened it up, there was a massive group of teens awaiting. Most of which held big boxes while the rest held envelopes.
As they pilled in they gave my mother all the gifts, making her gently drop them on the floor.
The music was turned up, people were cheering and dancing, someone even dimmed the light.
"I told you," my mother said as she danced over to me.
"Mom your mustache is falling," I giggled.
"Oh no," she pushed it up. She came as Mario and my dad dressed as Luigi. "I can't believe you stayed," she said to him.
"Well it's my daughters birthday so," he shrugged. "Why not?"
The party rolled on. They danced, ate, cheered. Everyone from school seemed to be there except for one person...her.
