{The curse~}

"Wise choice......Rose", he smiles

He helps me get off the floor.

Briskly I arrange my dress and appearance. Didn't want people assuming that Halloween had come faster this year.

My gaze drops on my hand that was once in his.

The moment our skin made contact it felt like as if it wasn't the first time I had held his hand.

I gasp when I notice something extra in it.
A black taint in my opponens pollicis.
Tattoo

There were four big and four smaller arrows; each one facing different direction making a flower- like shape

"What is this?", I raise my tattooed hand

He looked confused at first, but as his focus land on the small tattoo he makes a perfect O in realisation.

"That my dear is a tattoo. Never seen one before? Your species were the ones to invent it"

You can never expect a straight, simple answer coming out of his mouth.

"Let me reframe my question, what is it doing here?"

"You mortals have some documentations for the contracts isn't it? Consider this as something like that. Judging by your wild behaviour it wouldn't be shocking if I found our contract paper burnt the next morning, so this", he points at the tattoo "is a safer- promising option. I'm sure you wouldn't burn your skin will you?"

"Whatever", I roll my eyes and start walking

"What? Don't you like it? I can change the design if you want"
"Don't bother"

What he did next was quite hard to digest; I would probably need some digene

He puts his coat around my shoulder to keep me warm

I raise my brow so high that it might have probably touched the sky

"Relax, it's quite chilly. I don't want you falling sicker than you already are and dying without fulfilling the terms of our contract", he grumbles

Of course, it's for him. He looking out for me would be the most ironic thing ever

We walk in a comfortable silence until we reach the bus stop.

When the bus arrives I enter it, however he stays behind.

I turn around, "You aren't coming?"
"Missing my company already?"

I scoff; he is so full of himself

He chuckles, "No, I'm not. I may loiter around often but, at the end of the day I am a deity. I hold responsibilities for many things and have got works to carry out"

I nod my head in understanding, lowering my gaze.

Wait, what is this ? Was I actually disappointed that he wasn't coming along?

Did the pain just short-circuited my brain?

Seems like my illness is way more serious than I had anticipated.

"Rest well, love", he winks before vanishing in the crowd.

The moment my head rested on the pillow sleep came to me.

Thankfully today happened to be one of those peaceful nights; no nightmares, no weird dreams, nothing.
I simply slept for hours until my alarm rang.
