{A name~}

“How was your little date, love?”

“Date?”
“With that blonde”, he grimaces

It was odd, he never addressed Jimin by his name.
I’m pretty sure he knows it, but he acts  like as if acids would burn his mouth if he just spoke  it out loud.

“That wasn’t a date. We were just hanging out”, I clarify

“Yea just hanging out”, his voice was dripped with sarcasm

Was it his time of the month? Why was he acting so grumpy all of a sudden?

He stuffs his hands in his black overcoat, “Whatever, let’s get going”
Without waiting for my reply he starts walking.

“What was his name?”

“Hey”
“Hmmm?”

“What’s your name?”, I hesitantly ask

He stops in his tracks and turns towards me. His face displaying utter shock and astonishment.

“What?”, I ask completely confused with his reaction

He chuckles, “Nothing, its – it’s just thag no one has ever asked me that”
"No one?", my brows form a knot

I expected some explanation but he simply nods his head.

“So what is it? ......Your name”
There was a long pause.

“I don’t have one”, he murmmers

“Huh? What do you mean you don’t have one?”
“I’m not a mortal so why bother keeping such useless thing”, he shrugs

“What do people call you then if you don’t have a name?”, I frown

“That's the thing. No one wants to call the deity of doom, love”. He smiles

That smile was the saddest thing I had ever seen.

There was this uneasyness  building in my chest.

This feeling was something I was very familiar with ........guilt
The more I know about him the more I felt it.

Did I really make the right choice?

“Wipe that look off your face”, he grumbles
“What look?”

He lessens the gap between us, “The way you are looking at me right now, with those eyes filled with pettiness”

Involuntarily I  blink my eyes looking down at the floor

“I don’t need yours or anyone’s pettiness. I’m fine the way I am.......actually I quite enjoy it”

Liar

No one, not even the deity of doom would want to live like this.
Being abandoned by the rest of the world.
After all even a shadow needs light to survive.

With that he starts moving again, while I  follow him at the back like a pup following its master.

We come cross an extremely crowded street.

There were several little tents aligned in a straight line on both side of the pathway.
Each tent had different handicrafts, games and street food showcased at the front, filling the atmosphere with its heavenly aroma.

" What's the day today?"
" Friday", Doom looks at me curiously

Friday? How could I forget about this?
